If we were a premier league side I feel confident he would have been happy to return to Derby

Not so straight forward as it stands as he's still PL quality

Huddlestones got quality but if g Thorne is fit we don't need him-he's my first on team sheet and possibly new skipper.. He needs top players playing alongside him.. Ie Hughes Bryson, Russell, or hendrick..GT is For me our key player!

    re: Tom Huddlestone anyone?

Tom H was without doubt the best passer of a ball I have seen whilst watching Derby. Such a gifted passer, with the range and vision to execute sublime passes

    BUT...

He was equally for me one of the most frustrating midfielders to watch. For all his immense ability, he drove me potty for his lack of involvement in games. I wouldnt go as far to say he hid in games, but I like to see CMs involved all the time and dictating play, wanting the ball from defenders and prompting our attacks. Tom used to touch the ball far too little in a game, and that frustrated me as he had the ability to be the quarterback as used in earlier comment

I compare him to a George Thorne, or Will Hughes and see a massive difference in involvement. Havent seen anything of his performances on MotD to see that he has changed that much, so for me, I will be one of those who says "no, thanks" and certainly not on the high wages he would command

If you offered me today, Huddlestone or Leadbitter, then I would

Would love him back... Quality player and I was probably more gutted when he left than any othe Derby player I can remember.
Could we play Thorne and Tom in the same team in a 4-2-3-1?

Thorne and huddlestone in the 2 in front if the defence. Thorne the enforcer and tom the quarter back. That'd be something very special. We can only dream though.[/quote]

Dream team indeed.. I would love to see this pairing in the top flight.
