What is tiresome is that a mod diverts so many threads by trying to establish and confirm his old old argument that Rush and MacClaren have not improved the club. Even new posters are feeling the need to post and point out why the stuff in this thread is garbage.

Perhaps the other mods could have a quiet word.

But it is a messageboard and you don't have to read it.

The answer is, I think, restraint on all our parts (and I know its very difficult as I am prone to reacting too!). Whenever any of this Blatteaic drivel begins to pollute a thread, then the rest of us should simply not respond. If you simply have to - just use the little blue face symbol to register dissent.

I've lost count how many times I've posted to contribute to a thread whereby it's instantly swamped with this nonsense. What's the point in contributing to a forum and topical posts when it's just immersed in calling and duelling egos?

I'm not going to both in future it really has become immensely boring, repetitive and tedious. It's questionable whether it debate...between a few yes but for others it's just nonsense an not the reason I read or contribute to the forum.

In this day and age, given the uncertainty of tenure that managers are generally faced with, I can't find it in me to condemn any manager who looks after his own interests. On the whole clubs show no loyalty to their managers and I can't see how they expect much more in return. That's the modern way, regrettable as it may seem.

I agree and hope Mac does well at Newcastle. I must say i was sick of the rumours of will he won't he and i don't think Mac did enough to kill the speculation. I am happy with a fresh approach and await the new season full of optimism. C'mon you Rams[/quote]

When I think of SMac now, I just think of Pinocchio in the Shrek films trying to say things in a way to stop his nose growing!

In his introductory interview with Newcastle, he commented more than once on wanting to be loyal to Derby. I'm afraid you display loyalty, not describe it.

How you justify a "no contact with Newcastle" statement while at Derby, to weeks later "I turned the Newcastle job down to stay loyal to Derby" just doesn't stack up to me.

If anyone actually believes that Steve was thinking of anything but his CV and record when Newcastle approached numerous times needs their heads testing imo.

I thought about writing a long paragraph explaining why, with lots of quotes and evidence, but then i thought nobody would actually care what i had written anyway.

Trying to change someone's mind on a message board is pointless - and if they did, who cares.
