Give over Stan...why would we want your soon to be 32 year old 'best days are behind him' in exchange for our international, championship defender of the year captain, who is still to reach his peak...and give you money as well?

May not rate Keogh as a captain, although others who know more than me - at Coventry, Derby and ROI - clearly do. Can't fault his playing ability though. Suffered a bit last season through the absence of a regular partner and a CDM in front of him but still put in a decent season.

Great fitness record too, so Shackell and around £850K should do it for you if you want him that much.

Lancy You are right Shackel will use this to try and improve his contract all players and agents do it But talk of £5 million is cloud cuckoo land for a player in his final year You do realize he can talk to any club on Jan1st and walk out for nothing As for not wanting Keogh its was Dyche who was asking about his availability when Duff got injured Weve finished 3rd with Keogh and 10th with Shackel I would like to sign Shackel but not the end of the world if we don't Anyway hes back of honeymoon tomorrow and meeting with Dyche on Thursday so we know more by then

Why? because apparently Derby want Shackell and we don't want to let him go. So it;'s going to take Derby to offer something to make us change our mind.

Shackell has been playing better than ever and is a far better defender now than the one which left Derby. He's e

5m for a player in the last year of his contract dream on.
It was your manager who came after Bryson and Keogh last time so why wouldn't This be a possibility.

You will not turn down money at around 2m if he can walk for nothing and agree to do so in Jan.

You've tried to playing hard ball with Liverpool over Ings end will end up with less money than you should, your selling trippier for 3.5 so wake up shackell ain't going to be 5m and your a selling club

'It was your manager who came after Bryson and Keogh last time so why wouldn't This be a possibility'

That was then and we've signed a centre back since then.

'You will not turn down money at around 2m if he can walk for nothing and agree to do so in Jan'

    Oh but we will.

'You've tried to playing hard ball with Liverpool over Ings end will end up with less money than you should'

We'll get more for Ings than Liverpool initially offered, don't worry about that.

    'and your a selling club'

We aren't this summer but we haven't done too bad for a selling club in the past.

I was only joking about the £5 million figure - £3 million would seriously tempt Burnley for a 32-year-old defender.

But you and other Derby fans are wrong if they think Burnley's money-grabbing board will jump at the chance of selling at £2/£2.5 million.

Normally, they would cash in but this time Sean Dyche holds most of the aces. The Burnley board know Dyche's reputation is high after the last2 seasons - he was favourite for the Sunderland job until Advocaat changed his mind at the last minute.

Nearly every Burnley fan would rather lose Shackell than lose an "unhappy" Sean Dyche.

I don't think the Burnley board and directors will risk upsetting SD by selling a key player to a main promotion rival (Dyche would have to agree and be given assurances about money available fo
