Thread: Shackell fee

Whenever I used to say 'morning Jason' it seemed to take him an age to turn and reply, he would often fall over doing so.

Let's face it, SDSR and Chris311080 apart, very few of us ordinary fans will ever know the actual cost. The published price is invariably done to 'save face' for the selling and/or buying club so that every one appears to have got a reasonable deal.

As for Burnley fans being 'bitter'. Of course they are, Manofpride has it spot on. They've lost another one of their best players at a time when they should be building a promotion challenge. We'd feel just the same if we were in their position...just wait for the outcry if Martin joins up with McClaren. Looking at the positives though, providing Shackell can maintain the form and fitness which has made us chase him in the first place, then we appear to have done some very good business.

You sure it wasn't Claude Davis you were living next to?

Yes they can. The only official figures that enter the public domain are the accounts. They don't list individual fees, merely a total figure. Even from that it is impossible to untangle individual fees as the way in which the fees are paid out affects the numbers for each year - ie most transfers are paid in instalments so, even if we've agreed to pay £10m in fees, this year's accounts could show any figure from c£3m to the full £10m plus whatever we've paid out for last season, or even the season before's transfers. Then you have to add on the future liabilities which may include figures from the last few seasons and clauses which might or might not be triggered.

If you can find a definitive fee for Shackell in that lot you're a better man than I.

Kodak Get real Mr Dyche always does whats right for the club.Is that why hes let your three best players go I used to admire him but hes really gone down in my estimation To come out and say Shackel as only left for the money tell me a player who doesn't Then to Ince and Bent on ridiculous contracts.Notice he neverd any of the 13 weve moved on to pay for them Think Shaks has more than one season in him John Terry 35 still going Distin 37 just got £50,000 a week out of Bournemouth

Mistaram are on something ? never once did I mention Bent or Ince !!!. Ings left because he ran down his contract as he was entitled to ,Trippier had agreed to play one season in the prem and could then leave if we were relegated both left in the correct way.
Shacks ,a very good c/b ,had his head turned by the contract Derby offered, to be honest I couldn't blame him as he nears the end of his career .
Mr Dyche is a man of integrity who conducts himself in the correct manner not something Derby managers and directors are all to familiar with .Maybe an illegal approach from your club was involved in the deal with Shack maybe during last season ??.Anyway just mark us down for the usual 6 pts from you .

Your use of 'maybe' and references to illegality just show your bitterness and desperation. Perhaps you might justify by giving examples where our club has been disciplined for such .. think you will struggle.Suppose it is easie

I think Mr Dyche has got his wires crossed here. He says Shaks left because of the money but let me tell you on the grapevine I've heard the 'substantial offer' was in fact the chance to live in a nice area in a nice house on a nice street with pleasant neighbours. Not what he's been used to up North. He couldn't resist.

'Burnley's a sh*t hole Shaks wants to come home'
    Or is that Barnsley
Or maybe Mrs Dyche had something to do with it. Good looking lad is out Shaks.

Shackell lives in Alderley Edge with the rest of the multi millionaire footballers and will probably stay there while playing for you lot.
