    re: Migrant madness

Some good points Akwe and a good read in your link Gaz.

Sick of hearing it all now, ont radio, ont TV, Refugees bussed here and there, the photo of the little boy, Syrians should stay and fight for their Country, we are taking more than you bla bla bla.

I don't pretend to understand Politics in this Country let alone world wide, for instance why America was arming the Kurds who was the only real factor trying to fight ISIS toe to toe and for some reason a few month's ago America said it would not arm them anymore, Why ? Or that great (I joke) institution the IMF who lend Millions to third world Countries knowing that they can never pay it back laying down penalties of being able to take land and crops from them when they fail to repay, They (IMF) are a 100 times worse than the common mugger on the street yet get away with it time and time again.

It is far past the stage of who's caused this now, its been done and its happening and again the world sits and watch

The answer is that we open up to the fact that we don't really have an option but to take humane action to help these refugees Alto. Because we will look bigger chumps if we don't. The world is changing and whether we like it or not we damned well best try and make the most of it. We must do the right thing and support people around the world wanting our help.
If other countries choose to stick their noses in the air and ignore the human plight then on their head be it. We are better than that
    Forward: Frankie Boyle nails it>>>

"We invade their countries and justify it by saying that our way of life is better, then boggle at the idea they might think living here is great. We pay no attention to how our actions in other countries have precipitated the situation. There has to be something wrong with a world where the best employment option for a farmer in sub-Saharan Africa isn't being a farmer in sub-Saharan Africa, but crossing the Mediterranean on a punctured lilo, only to spend

Hi guys - just doing a scan of the boards before I crash and I stumbled across this interesting debate.

I think that taking thirty thousand immigrants is going to dent the problem - we need to be taking in one hundred thousand to two hundred and fifty thousand! There are four million of them!!

With our economy on the rise with jobs etc then I am sure we could afford to buffer the influx.

Terry, 250 K immigrants, when will our kids ever get a house. Even now there is an ex- serviceman who fought on in Irag and Afganistan with PTSD in Tower Hamlets who tried to get a council home was told "No chance, there is 20,000 on the waiting list.

    I was just jesting Claw.

I wouldn't let any of them in as they are all trying to con us.

As soon as they leave their own country then they can seek political asylum, why then not go to Egypt or another African state?

The answer is because they do not just want to be safe from terrorism in their own country they want to pick and choose where they live, making their initial excuse feeble.

There are ninety thousand of them in Greece 'migrating' through to Britain and Germany - correct me if I am wrong but the last time I looked there was not a war on in Greece, oh I understand now, being somewhere safe is suddenly not enough for them and they want to live in a country with a superior economy.

I hear what you are saying Gaz and yes Boyle is right, but your last line of "If other countries choose to stick their noses in the air and ignore the human plight then on their head be it. We are better than that" is not enough, nowt will be done against these other Countries and we being better than that certainly does not ease the pain and suffering.

Tel mate, I value as all posters on here do folks points, especially when they are foreign to our board as we welcome all regardless of their views, but I think claw has answered your point and I'm afraid I agree with him, you say our economy is on the rise, I'd beg to differ greatly, and if Alf see's your post get ready to wear the tin hat, but hopefully you'll take it well

Very true Terry, the Calais mob is a good example.

I'm fed up hearing the Journos say they are desperate to get to the UK. Why?? They are not in any danger in France which is a free and democratic country. They are economic migrants, and should be deported.

I mean the other day they found 19 Vietnamese in the back of a lorry, last time I looked Vietnam was on the other side of the World.

I wonder what the Vietnamese stowaways excuse was "We have been trapped inside this container since 1974 and we are fleeing our war torn country escaping the Americans, please protect us".

Believe it or not they said that they were all children and therefore we would have to look after them.

You could not make it up, but they were sussed out.
