    Migrant madness

All down to Germany I'm afraid just as the Hungarian PM said. They said they would accept all Syrian refugees.
Now they are getting far too many they are moaning and saying we should take some.
They are also saying if we don't we will not get EU reform, that is blackmail. We spend more money on the camps out there than anyone except the U.S.

I was undecided about the EU referendum next year but now I will vote to leave, I'm fed up with Merkel and her ilk creating problems for us all.

Hi Claw I hear you loud and clear

I think humanitarians around the world should be involved in this refugee crisis
These people (well most of as I don't know about all obviously), are attempting to escape their war torn country which is in an horrendous situation from tyrants and alike

As one human to another from around the globe we should be doing all that is possible to escape from a country filled with evil terrorists
We should be doing all that is possible to make their passage across the waters as safe as is possible
We should be doing all that we can to make sure the have food and water; warm clothing and some form of shelter
We should do all we can to make them feel safe and welcome
We should do all that we can to make their country safe so they can return home

We cannot accept mass movement to so say desirable countries such as Austria Germany UK etc

More and more pressure for us and Germany to accept refugees is ludicrous and is doomed to failure

    In this

Agree with what you are saying Gaz, The war in Syria has been going on for 4 years and we were paying for a lot of the refugee camps in Turkey etc. But since Merkel said they can all come to Germany we have this unholy mess.

They should have stayed in Turkey, a muslim country, because as the Hungarians say they are a Christian country and they don't want a lot of muslims.

You probably are more informed than me here Claw!
I just feel that protecting individual borders is futile although I in some way respect Hungary's stance too.
I would like to hear more about the ships travelling to the seas where these people are drowning and have some sort of welcoming safe haven for the to be greeted and supported to move throughout the land until they are safe to return to their homeland.
The Italians struggled with depleted resources and the world stood by and watched them

A lot of moral black mailing seems to be just a waste of time

Germany have taken 800,000 asylum seekers? I am not convinced as I don't trust anyone anymore

    re: Migrant madness

The Hungarian PM has said that it is a 'German problem'.

It's alright for Germany to come out and say all refugees are welcome but unless they are going to be transporting these refugees directly to Germany, then they are just making problems for the countries around them and the countries who these refugees have to travel through.

I'd be more open to accepting these refugees (it is awful what some of them are going through) if we hadn't have already been swamped with migrants in the 50's, 60's, 70's and then recently with the hordes of Eastern Europeans.

We're a pie and pea hole of an island and one that has our own mess to sort out. We shouldn't be adding to it

Your right about the eastern europeans Stan. Apparently 63,000 Romanians came here in the past year but the national Insurance office says that they issued 200,000 numbers to them.

A lot of them are chancers, there is a big group of them bedding down around marble arch with their shopping trolleys and assorted krap while they defecate all around the place, go shoplifting and begging in the day..

We don't want or need them here, they are spoiling our country.

Very Good thread this, right up my street as well, some brilliant points from all.

Its a mess, and its a problem for everyone.

I agree with claw about these Romanians, heard but not seen them at Marble Arch but have first hand knowledge of the batch (a big one) at our Bus Garage, plenty of Polish drivers have come into our depot and they are a hard working likable lot. the Romanians on the other hand are a very different breed entirely, workshy, lazy and hard to get along with, 6 of them went back to Romania after only a few weeks saying this was not for them.

I also agree with Stan in that I would be more sympathetic and agree to let more of these persecuted refugees into our little island IF we were not swamped (swamped the appropriate word) already with more immigrants than we can cope with making it harder for the true Brit (a dying breed) of this Country to get work, housing and have a more comfortable life.

Lets not beat about the bush here, Britain along with Amer
