Is Jackson actually going to play? If not, what is he there for? Cover? Well, surely, from Rhodes, Lawrence, Koita, Delfouneso, Brown, Cham, Forrester, Green, Joel, Preston, Rittenberg, Wall, Mansell, etc (some of them injured, I know), we've GOT "cover"!!
Is experience REALLY such an important factor, considering we are probably only talking about someone who will get the odd twenty minutes on the pitch?
To be honest Aucks it's simply the numbers game (akin to the monkey sat at the piano )
If you are given enough freedom to bring guys in, the more you do the more the chance of dropping upon that one / two players that fit.
For me it's all about the quota of success.
Yes it's unrealistic to think that you / anyone could score a 100% suc

Or ....look at it this way, with a mind of relegation and looking at players he thinks may get Rovers out of Div 1 next season.

So we now have 5 strikers who can't score .......
To be fair, Champs, he is in a tight spot. He spent money on Bennett that he said beforehand he didn't have (!), but that's probably emptied the coffers again (because of FFP).
As Despair says, it then becomes almost a matter of hit-and-hope with your loan-signings.
What you need with that sort of signing is what happened with Yakubu - someone suddenly "clicking" and finding a scoring-streak...even if it only lasts for half a season.

It's looking more and more likely. No-one seems to have asked PL that question yet!

I hope this is not real. I cannot think of a worse centre-forward in the Premier League than Danny Graham......we already have FOUR non-scoring strikers in Koita,Delfouneso,Brown & Lawrence,we do NOT need a fifth

I wonder if Lambert will be allowed to bring in 30 plus players like Bowyer ...?

    Hook temptingly baited there !

All I would say is that (as said above) its a numbers game, and its the ratio of numbers taken in against 'return upon investment' that counts.
Its anybody's opinion upon what is determined a good return rate against a poor return rate. Its very easy in regards to any individual player in isolation ie Gestede vs K Davies for example !!!
Paid eventual peanuts for Gestede, he came up trumps contribution wise and we sold for huge profit - perfect scenario.
K Davies paid a ridiculous amount for contributed nowt, and sold on for huge loss - nightmare. Who's fault?
JR: IMO paid well over the odds for, but contributed handsomely. Then again IMO falling value ie no return upon sell on value.
Add to this Gestede on lowish salary, KD on huge salary, likewise JR on huge salary.
Gestede for me best investment, then JR, a

Champs is back.. to be fair I don't see jimmy Floyd doing any better with a stronger squad..

Maybe we should have kept bowyer..

    Hi Sax hope your well.

I'm moaning. And it won't help so I'll refrain until things get a whole lot worse. I just don't see us going forward. I know I was touting Hasslebaink but I don't think he'd do any better.

While I accept things had gotten stale under Bowyer. Like anything you generally don't notice how well someone was doing until they have left. My main concern is Lambert is on alot more money and isn't earning that. But he'll need time. My other worry is, which division will we be starting in next season?

Howie you little tinker ???? Bowyer signed alot (a big % on loan deals) but to try balance that up, his main remit was to shed the club of it's main earners (and in most cases our better players) while we didn't progess (a tough one when your selling your best players and replacing them with average) we weren't getting progressively worse. Right now as I post this.....and this has been happening since the end of Nov ....we are getting worse. Week by week. Not just

This is fast becoming a survival act
Yes the football is dire and our position is perilous to say the least but the players need to up there game
you will only win if you hit the back of the net
currently our players look **** scared whenever they get anywhere near
next season providing we are still in the championship we need a major overall of what we have
the players we currently have don't have the cutting edge.
