Me too. I have to say this is far better than what I was expecting.
Is there something we don't know?

I just tried to edit my comment on Stokes by adding the sentence below. However, you can now only edit for five minutes after the original comment.
    Why is that, Robin?
Another technical question about the new format: any idea why I cannot access some of the threads from just before the changes were made?

    Back to my original point:
Where are the other comments on the Stokes signing? Come on - let's try and keep the site alive!

This is a very good signing and if we can pull off the signing of Danny Graham that is a forward line that I will be pleased with
on the subject of the technical side aucks I have no idea I am mearly the broom of the site
I overlook any threads that fall into anarchy or salesmen popping any advertising on here.

Not claiming to be an insider with inside knowledge but I heard there is a budget and a decentish one. Lambert said it wasn`t enough and wanted more, this was refused so off he went. I`m presuming Coyle has the same budget !

Well that sounds a lot better than I feared, but I have to take others positivity opinions on this as I know nothing of the guy, or seen him play. As Robin says, lets hope its not another Goodwillie scenario. He was touted with the same sort of 'fanfare'.
With there being (allegedly) many other clubs chasing his sig, we came out on top. That suggests that Venkys have opened the chequebook, or the 'others' were a figment of his agents imagination.
If they have indeed splashed the cash, DG (if we really want him) will be a extra cash outlay that will not come cheap.
I do wonder, with all of the other positions left to fill, what sort of monies will be left to outlay.
Even given the income from JR's departure, I am none too sure what level of spend they are going to be allowed, inside of FFP's restrictions.
But one step at a time, it would appear that OC has started off better than I feared, so congrats there to him.
I'm still not too sure how much more is needed in order to capture all of last years ST holders, I don't see any newer applications emerging.

The Goodwillie thing was totally misrepresented Despair. Kean didn't sign him, he was forced on him. The 'Scottish Wayne Rooney' line was him having a dig, but as wel all hated the slimeball, it was used as a stick to beat him with. Until a player arrives and starts playing you can't judge, but based on his career so far, Stokes looks like a statement of intent to do more than just try and survive.

    Let's hope so Dan
If we can sign Danny Graham on top of stokes that would be a front line which would do rather well in the championship
of course we need more than a couple of forwards but if we can sort this area out we can afford to take our time addressing the other problematic areas of our team

    Hi guys, Hibs fan here.

I'm maybe a bit biased, but I reckon you have made a fantastic signing.

The boy has made himself a living legend at my club, he will never have to buy himself another drink down Leith!!

Anyway, he definitely knows where the goals are, give him good supply and he will score goals.

Ive seen him twice at Hibs now, first time around he scored 24 goals in one season, then we sold him to Celtic for £1.3m, he was just a kid and still quite raw.

He came back on loan in January, and if you look at his stats in the Scottish Championship, it isn't that impressive, but he hadnt played a game last season before he joined us, took him a while to get match fit, he had just started to come to the boil in time for the cup final.

He was sensational in the Scottish cup final.

Plus, I know it's fashionable to bash Scottish football, but it isn't as bad a level as people make out.

Also, folk comparing him to David Goodwillie, he is twice the striker he ever was. The only folk calling him the "Scottish rooney" would have been Dundee Utd fans. He was decent, no more, you got robbed with the amount you paid.

    Anyway Stokes videos:

    My fave goal for Hibs

I really hope it works for him and you have a great season.

    Forever a Hibs legend.
