I know what's done is done ,but why on earth did he bring sterling back in & revert to Kane on free kicks
and to bring on Wiltshire when he clearly in the last game he was not up to speed with first team football
Rooney what the f*** was up with him !
Joe Hart is he really the best keeper we have.
    One word embarassing!!

It was an almost "Wassall home to Hull in the playoffs" like performance. No-one turned up, or if they did, they ****ed off home after 15 minutes. I can honestly say I have never seen a more inept performance in an international game (not even Brazil in the 2014 World Cup semi final). Boosted by a 2nd minute penalty and the lead I anticipated a comfortable win as Iceland would have to come out and play, rather than sit back and absorb what we threw at them. I was right - it was a comfortable win: for Iceland.

Could we take anything at all from the performance: no. The much vaunted new golden generation stunk the place out. Defensively weak when under only slight pressure: Kane was diabolical (I think a doping test should be done on him for sedatives); Rooney showed why he is not up for the play-maker role and perhaps will retire from International football now; the rest were just shoddy, imprecise in their passing, slow and seemed to have no inspiration.

In fact Wassall would make a good England manager with this lot to work with.

Spot on.. Why take injured players? Wilshire.. How many times do we need to make the same mistakes? Sterling.. Completely out of form this season but we still take him and shoe horn him into the side.. How many times do we need to make the same mistakes?
Playing people out of position and shoe horn them into the side? How many times do we need to make the same mistakes?
We learn nothing, now the same old discussions about grass roots football will come up again.. There is no need to over analyse this, we just need someone who does not over complicate things and picks players on merit not on reputation alone. Play the game simply and play to your strengths.. Most of our squad would get in most other squads with the obvious exceptions..
Why did Kane look so good throuout the season and so poor in this tournament? In fact why did most of them? Management team...
Now we have senior people in the FA who don't know much about football.. That's fine from a business stand point but please nowhere near the selection of the new man..
