    Ot- Adam Peaty

Congratulations to Adam Peaty of Derby for gaining a Gold in the Rio Olympics. Since sports other than football are generally overlooked in Derby I thought I'd bring it to your notice.

What is about Derby folk who are so keen to disassociate themselves from other sports. He trained at the City of Derby Swimming Club, so get out of that one.

A bit like you claiming Doncaster lad Robin Hood as your own.....

Yes he is from Uttoxeter and as a part-time resident there believe me they know where he comes from but big kudos too to Derby Swimming Club, and for that matter Repton School for providing use of the only decent pool for miles.

Not 'disassociation' Awks...just honesty...he's Adam Peaty of Uttoxeter, no point in pretending otherwise, but credit to him and all those associated with his success.

Isn't that the same with your footballers. They are only associated with Derby for one or two seasons and they are off elsewhere.

Due to all swimming pools in Derby being closed down for while, I was wondering where he did his training.

Silly argument...same with all football teams...for the time they are with the club they represent the town/city. You described Adam Peaty as 'of Derby', he isn't. There are people in Derby and Repton who have doubtless helped him but he comes from a different town in a different county, pointless and dishonest to pretend otherwise.
No idea if he follows football but if so he probably supports Stoke...most in Uttoxeter do.

Repton School (lovely pool/facilities as you would expect with the astronomical fees they charge), Loughborough Uni
