Thread: Is it time to scrap TV deals?

Is it time to scrap TV deals?

The money is shyte anyway, would telling sky, bt or whoever pays the six an thruppence to us really be that detrimental to any clubs?

Might bring more supporters back and generate more cash, mibbe the clubs could provide their own live games, most offer it now anyway and could make more themselves?

The English clubs are out of sight now due to the money with better wages in the English 2nd division than most clubs in Scotland, make it if you want to watch yer club you go to the game or pay them for a live tv feed?

    I agree...
it is something that was spoken about some time ago. All the teams should do their own and charge supporters what they will. I know Celtic have Celtic TV - I assume Rangers have similar, and these do show a limited number of games for a subscription, although the feed isn't always as good as it could be...

I have Rangers TV, its a decent service with a decent feed, its going HD very soon so another improvement, I get live games, updates, interviews, the youths games and competitions and stuff, all for less then £200 a year, you can get a game live for under a tenner.

I agree also.. From a consumer's point of view are they actually getting value for money given the state of our game, Scottish football for the fans is a poor product . Quality of players has dropped as finances get tighter. Ticket prices are increased as clubs try to pay their bills pushing fans out of the game and towards their televisions and with that the English game as that is the main focus of Sky Sports and BT Sports. TV is actually killing the game up here, But before we do anything we need to tell Regan and Doncaster to sling their hook that's the first ***** step to improving the game in Scotland.
