Andy I was at Prenton Park for that 5-1 thrashing and Stimac got our goal We had a terrible side at the time But Angry is right history rarely repeats itself but we desperately need leaders Who where are they easier said than done plus there are definitely players at our club who probably cry if anyone shouted at them Not sure about Will going the player has to want to leave don't get the impression he wants to I think he should be playing behind Martin everyone else as been tried and failed

The season before Mel took over we finished eighth so how is that backwards?

Aren't all chairman effectively 'amateurs' anyway...they then employ professionals to do the job and at least ours is, as you suggest, 'well meaning' and a genuine supporter.
You may well be right to say that our sixth place last season indicated forward progress given the previous year's poor finish but then again we reached Wembley in 2014. Also there was considerable disquiet among supporters last season regarding the way the team was being managed and some pretty lack lustre performances which didn't really improve as time went on - with one or two notable exceptions. I wasn't trying to judge the club's current position on a few pre-season matches and three competitive games.

Your point on all chairman being amateurs really sums up where I was coming from - We have employed professionals for both on-field and off-field activities e.g Sam Rush; the question is, are they being allowed to do the job or is the amateur doing the job they are being paid for?

Take your point but are you really suggesting that MM is going to the trouble and expense of employing the likes of Rush, Pearson, Powell and Idiakez and then telling them all what to do and how to do it? Just can't see it.

Lets take comfort that despite a premier league manager, newcastle haven't won yet either!

Funny how things come round - still not seeing where Mr Morris is taking us. Desperately hope he's not our Nigel Doughty.

It's right about the Stimac effect though, at this time we are rudderless on the pitch!! As hard as he tries Keogh will never inspire and lead in the way that we need. Until we find a leader, an arse kicker, someone who inspires and drives the team forward we will struggle!!

Okay, I know I'm a long way a way and didn't have to watch today, but how is this the owner's fault?
He appointed a promising rookie manager and gave him loads of money...started badly...everyone moaned...got much better...still not good enough...started to go wrong...everyone moaned...sacked the 'rookie'...everyone moaned...put Wassall in charge...he became a hate object...loads on here said why can't we have some experience, someone like Pearson...Wassall did well...still the fans moaned...one dismal home performance away from Wembley...everyone moaned...Wassall returned to where he came from...the very same Mr. Pearson was appointed...given loads of money...and we're still crap, in fact we're probably worse than crap but I honestly don't see how the owner can be vilified. He's provided the funding and done what many asked but he hasn't chosen the players or picked the formation. Macstheman is totally right imo about the ongoing lack of a leader being crucial and we won't have one now before next January at best...it's a mess and it's going to take time but surely the blame has to lie with those who identify the signings, select the tactics, choose the formation and under perform on the pitch rather than the guy whose bank balance is steadily reducing in his effort to put DCFC where we all like to think they belong.

I think it's a case if reverse psychology in that we see Mel chucking his money at the club but, as it appears to be falling on stony ground, we blame him to appease our own conscience over him losing his money!!
