Ah yes, "the big one" as they call it here. Fear not as I think Seattle itself is fairly well protected from the open Pacific Ocean and any direct hit tsunami although there would certainly be some impact of large waves entering the Puget Sound. I like to think of myself as lucky talisman as in 7 years in California I only experienced a couple of knee tremblers and in 10 years here in Seattle absolutely nothing. They had their last significant shaker back in 2001. We do of course have a number of dormant (not extinct) volcanoes and Mount St Helens continues to blow off steam now and again after it's big show over 35 years ago. As for a return to the homeland, you never know?
PS Just to reciprocate as you have shared your location, I actual live a rural life about 25 miles inland and north of Seattle. Not keen on the urban life.
