I think he's safe for a while for some of the reasons Monty mentions (not sure about the financial aspect as I heard we'd only be liable for 3 months pay) but there's no doubt we need to improve. However, I'm sure if we have 75% possession, spend most of the time in their half, outshoot Cardiff 20 to 5 but lose 1-0 then that wouldn't be seen as progress. Likewise if we have 25% possession, spend most of the time in our half, are outshot 20-5 and sneak a 1-0 win then AS would still come in for extensive criticism. Who'd be a football manager eh?

Ok, hows this for positive, we're not in the bottom three despite shipping goals, oh, we havent lost a game at home, oh, we're scoring more goals at the moment than we have in the past year or two, want anymore fella?

Well they beat us 5-1 at home when we had one of our best teams in living memory (although Phil Henson at No7 that day for the suspended Tiger Towner wasn't exactly a like-for-like replacement) so as you say a 3-0 or 4-0 score at St James Park with our current team/form would be 'a result'
