Absolutely not joking at all. We should never have sacked him the first time. He had got us 2 promotions in a row, and then kept us in the second tier with the lowest budget for four years. He could have got us relegated in the first season at that level, or the fourth as it looked like we would be (and were eventually) or the 50th season and it would have made no difference - he should not have been sacked. For me, his playing career with us, and his two consecutive promotions against all the odds, should have left him with more than enough in the bank to avoid the sack if we were relegated. Disgraceful decision.

Then the second time. He just was not given long enough in the job. Fact. He had been building a squad, and he got us to the playoff final. He should have been given until the end of the next season at least as we could still have been promoted. Either way, I would have given him another couple of years to build as long as we were still up there challenging which we were.

As for now, we need someone to save us. Someone who the fans will get behind. Ronnie is the man.

As I said, it will never happen. But I'd love it if did, and if Derby can re-appoint McClaren after sacking him less than a year and half ago, anything can happen in football!

Completely agree with that Ellis. Many bang on about the two back to back promotions by Evans, but Ronnie did it with less of a budget (and saw the TV money for that 1st year in the Championship syphoned away to 'payoff debts') and with out the lure of New York Stadium and without the backing of a ambitious chairman. I remember him on radio deedah begging people to come to Millmoor to get at least 6000 through the gates to make ends meet. Yes his achievement in my book was far greater than Evans. Ronnie did it with both hands tied behind his back.

On a final point I heard him interviewed on dee dar last Friday I think it was, about his forth coming game against Dagenham. He was of course asked about the Millers present dilemma, and he still referred to the Millers as 'us' and 'we'. Another clubs manager but still talks that way.....Once a Miller always a Miller, thats our Ronnie

There was only one debt that was paid off with the £2m TV money. That was Mr Booth.

Agree he shouldn't have got sacked.

I wouldn't give him the managers job now but would have liked him to be given him role along side Stubbs

Considering whats happening now, could it be worse?..at least he knows whats needed even if he wouldnt be able to try and sort it until january..going for another manager who hopefully would be a winner isnt easy but i believe ronnie could steady this titanic weve got..85% would be behind him, thats for sure..so im putting it up now...get ronnie back , hes done it all before...

Big win for them in the FA Cup final qualifying round today. Only two more wins and Ronnie could be coming home in January (in more than one sense )

In the meantime, teams that we were playing against until recently, Aldershot lost at home to Eastbourne Borough, Tranmere lost at Barrow and York got a creditable home draw against Curzon Ashton.

    We were playing at Norwich!

    Looks like a tasty fixture!
How come Ronnie is taking the FA Cup seriously now, when he never did for us
