Oh come on Eve. You know you brighten up our board.

I disliked Lambert after the second season, but I will try to stay objective. Paul did get a difficult job with his hands tied behind his back, but the mistakes he made just compounded how bad the results were.

He came in with the rep that he had an eye for a bargain and that he liked young and hungry players. He quickly made a point of bombing out the older expensive players, but made it so obvious that we were left with almost a full team of highly paid pros that we could not unload.

He then proceeded to bring in an array of unheard of players over the next two seasons and although he finished the first season with us showing top 10 form he brought in quite a few new faces the start of the next season.

He then began to give up on players he had signed. Lowton was linked with Arsenal then he was Benched, Silla, Bennett replaced with Luna and then he was replaced. Bowery. Etc.

All the while our brilliant next gen youth side was decidedly better than these players and were having to take lower league gigs. He never even gave Grealish more than a substitute appearance. But, it was his loss of confidence in his own signings that was my concern.

The football in his first season was actually good. Possession based stuff. Play out of the back. But, we were getting stuffed so he had to change it but like I said we got results from that January to the end of the season and we were playing attractive stuff.

Benteke's injury hampered the next season and we struggled as we lost his replacement Kodak was injured shortly after as well.

We went back to a possession based game and we would play out from the back and hit dozens of short sideway passes and we would average 2 shots per game. It was awful.

His two friends that were his assistant coaches were bullying players and using drugs. Not long after they were fired for snorting coke in Crystal Palace's boardroom a youngster part of the Australian squad mysteriously left the team to sort his head out.

The worst was when he sold Daniel Johnson to Preston for 50k. Within a month the lad who had only shined for us in the reserves and pre season was be touted at being worth ten times as much by his new boss. The Preston fans let us know about that trade in our recent meeting at Deepdale.

According to a few media websites including BBC and Sly Sports, Lambert is expected to be confirmed as the new man in charge at Wolves. It seems likely the club will wait until after the Derby game. We will see.

One thing that i don't think has been mentioned if Lambert is appointed is he may want Alan Irvine to join him from Norwich. Imagine the fact we'd have an ex Villa and albion manager at the club.

No problem, I think Irvine did a cracking job at sandwell.

If he does come with Lambert at least we will be employing him in his true role.

He was immense at sandwell town, those blankets and eleven people protests against his appointment will live long in the memory. Stuart Taylor has been appointed to work alongside Rob Edwards, so i presume Irvine will continue in his role with Norwich.
