Indeed I was involved in lobbying with my employer at the time Barnardo's for the introduction of a *** offenders register but the Thatcher government always refused one saying it wasn't needed. There were no enhanced disclosuire checks, most employers didn't have child protection policies, the police didn't take it seriously in most instances and society didn't understand the level of psychological damage to the victims. Indeed when abuse victims did start to come forward in bigger numbers in late 80s early 90s their was a backlash with accusations of 'false memory syndrome' We could go right back Freud withdrawing his paper that found widespread abuse in Austrian middle class society then creating the mother fantasy, setting back society's consciousness over abuse by some 100 years. It wasn't until 1997 we finally got a *** offenders register from the incoming Labour government.

Its horrible what happened in your family. You should know better then with some of your posts on here.
Perhaps its the way you have interpreted my posts, you seem to think every Rangers fan sees this issue as a stick to beat celtc with.

The celtc issue has never really been put to bed, there are many questions left unanswered, you mentioned Kelly and he is one question, there are more, and I don't believe for one second there aren't more clubs involved, be it senior or amateur there simply has to be more involved, my experience with victims groups would back this belief.

I can relate to your story, its sadly a common one, I apologize for any offence taken.
