Happy with the result in the end... If it had stayed 2-2 or even 3-2 I might have been less comfortable with it. Fact is I was never really in any doubt that we would wear Saints down and win anyway, but I'd rather do it fairly... 5-2 was a result I can live with![]()
If that gives them some comfort to think that then let them batter in. I do have some sympathy with them, their supporters and manager but every team gets crap decisions given against them every week but all the diddies can see is big bad Celtic getting all the decisions. How many times in the last few weeks have we seen Celtic runs getting incorrectly flagged for offside - Sinclair, Forrest et al running behind their defence and getting pulled up. I understand it is difficult for the others because their chances are that much fewer due to having a poorer standard of player and a poorer standard of manager - the odd decision unfairly given against Celtic has little impact these days given the gulf in ability and fitness - but that is up to the others to take their chances when they come. When Celtic can pull a player off the bench who will probably be sold for more than the collective worth of the squads of the 11 other teams, they have to make their chances count.
Anyway, another three points. 27 ahead of Aberdeen who are 25 ahead of ICT...
As tough a game as I predicted, though we helped them by not defending crosses properly. The penalty decision was wrong, but only after a replay from a better angle shows the touch off the hip onto the elbow. About time we got a dodgy penalty in Perth, its only been 6 years since Michael Duberry saved a Samaras cross and then got up and stopped the ball with his hand thinking the game had been stopped, only for Craig Thomson to ask him to play on, despite two separate handballs. Ach well, better late than never. Seen video of that 5th goal, an absolute belter, counted 24 Celts passes including Lustigs cheeky flick and McGregors clever pass for Dembele to score, a thing of footballing beauty.
The Dons beat Dundee 3-0 in a cracking, if one sided, game. And yes it was on TV.
