Let's hope he can bag a few against his old club!

We seem to bring in players who can't get a game for their parent clubs

    Nugent
    Vydra
    Anya
    Weimann

    and on loanee DeSart

    to name a few
    bad policy in my opinion

For all SM saying its a show of intent imo Nugent is a has been , there is a reason why these players weren't playing in the first eleven at there previous clubs

We need to get away from this buying policy and look out of the premier if we can't attract current players who are regulars
well especially at the prices we pay. Vydra I don't get the price for a player who can't start for Watford
All these players come in and sit on our bench ,deemed not good enough , pure madness

I agree on the second part, I know it is an inflated market at the moment but we sure do pay top dollar. The first half, however, is a bit more of a challenge. If you are going to buy players that improve your starting XI they either need to be players that can't get a game at a higher placed club (e.g. Ince) or players that are starring at lower clubs (e.g. Russell). Strangely, the lower risk option is to bring in an out of favour player from a higher club - they have at least done something to get there in the first place. That said, Omar Bogle scored a brace for Wigan yesterday so what do I know?

Tbf...Vydra had a great goal scoring record during two seasons at Watford. Chris Martin was 'deemed not good enough' at Norwich while Blackman was most definitely a first choice at Reading so maybe it's more complicated than it seems.

I honestly think Anya is a 'player' but his fitness record is a real worry and everyone was singing de Sart's praises after the WBA match but then, when the rest of the side didn't turn up six days later at Leeds, he seemed to be the one to pay the price. Surely the example of Alex Pearce should tell us all that players can come good even after getting off to the least auspicious of starts.

Anya a player? you're pulling our legs! He did absolutely nothing last night. Every pass he got he passed straight back to the player who passed to him. Blackman and Vydra were little better. It was like playing with 8 players.
