Don't agree with your choice but that's just opinion. Bent isn't a problem because I think his contract is up at the end of the season. The rest represent at least £12m worth of investment/assets and, imo, only Keogh has regularly proved himself as saleable for a decent price. Of course it should be up to Rowett who he wants to keep, who he feels he can motivate and who will fit his systems, but you started out suggesting it was an easy and straightforward task and as far as the money men are concerned it is anything but...unless you think discarding 'assets' and possibly paying a percentage of the wages of players who join rival clubs is a good way to go.
Didn't say it was an easy task or straightforward,so you got your words wrong there ramAnag.
Who would you get rid of ramAnag because on paper, most of them have high wages and someone has to go. Bent is coming to the end of his career, Blackman has been injured but never fitted in at all since he moved here, Butterfield has never been the same player since he had a bust up at his wedding, Camara underrated, Olsson makes to many mistakes, Russell loses the ball too much and has poor ball control and gives away possession and forces the team to push us in our own half. Bryson has been a lost soul and has been a valuable asset over the years but time has come for him to be moved on to the next stage of his career. As for Keogh, he is not a natural leader and doesn't really motivate the player's and help lift the morale in crucial moments of the game. Wolves have put a £1.5m offer in,for in form Weimann so he could be on his way out. The list goes on and on....
Okay...so it wasn't you that wrote...'ALL WE NEED is to restore the balance to the side...players that have been at the club for a long time will need to be moved on...we need to cut the wage packet down...loan players out who are high earners...find players that fit into the current system'.
Those are all your words and if we had a magic wand I'd agree with you, but you can't just simplify it to a case of ...'All we need'. It's a mess and without causing us enormous financial wreckage it's going to be bloody hard to sort out. We can all compile our wish list of things to be done...knowing quite how to do it, without damaging the club's finances and reputation any further, is rather harder.
P.S. Who I'd keep and who I'd want to leave isn't really the point. We all have different ideas and I'd certainly keep Keogh but not as a captain. Who we'd build next season's side around could perhaps be an interesting future thread but this debate is about 'how' rather than 'who'.

You simply processed and gathered, that this is an easy and straightforward task. You can't simply avoid, losing vast amounts of money, in football you are going to take a financial hit wether you like it or not.
That's what you get from poor scouting, I'm afraid and that comes with a price of losing money.
