    Reading Post Match Thoughts

No it's not a question I know you are reading the post match thoughts but this is for the Reading post match thoughts. Another hard fought defeat. Just 3 more to go?

Back four played well, battled for every ball.
Always had the feeling if Reading got it back to 1-1that they would go on and win.
Huff & Puff up front 2nd half again, can't remember Reading keeper having a save to make 2nd half.
Grabbans goal was worth the admission price alone. 2 ex Millers score...one deemed not good enough for us.
Man of Match : Richard O'Donnell.

We had 26% possession, with 3 shots on target.... ie back to "normal" after the Good Friday game against a very poor B'ham City team who have lost 2-0 at home to Burton today, arnd may well be going down with us.

As usual, on Radio DeeDah, Warney said "Proud of the lads....equalising goal was a 'worldie' (it always is - funny that we never score any of those)... lapse of concentration in defence for Reading's winner.... the lads couldn't have done any more..... (and worse still) 90% of the players will still be here next season"

Please turn off the tape loop, Warney, it's having a demoralising effect on the Millers fans

Warney saying on DeeDah, 90% of current first team squad are staying. Very worrying. Not been today, but by reports, as ever all knackered after about an hour. Warney says we want more athletic players, but we need players who can play for over 90 minutes.

Sounds like we need to put some effort into helping existing players improve fitness first - no point bringing in athletic players if we can't maintain fitness levels of the current lot

Most of the players signed by Stubbs, and Warney too, were in some way crocked and added to the crocks that we already had. The clue was in the first match of the season, when we completely ran out of steam after about 30 minutes. That pattern has hardly changed since . Players that we hoped would regain full fitness haven't done - Adeyemi, Newell, Frecklington, Blackstock, Clarke-Harris, Allan, Broadfoot, etc, etc . Not sure that I'd trust Warney to even recognise an "athletic" player, given what his own signings have been like

Most of em are under contract for next season, we really want to be keeping Smallwood and JCH. I wouldn't mind Morris and Adeyemi staying too. It doesn't mean they'll all be in the first team at the start of next season?. If we get the players we've been after I think folk will be really happy.

Hope at least one of them is a half decent goalscorer who is fit for more than a dozen games over a season

We really need some players who are fit enough to play the FULL season though.... ok, with suspensions, flu, etc it might not be the full 46 league games, but 35-40 surely isn't too much to ask? We don't seem to have anybody like that left at our club!

apart from perhaps Smallwood - rarely seems out through injury. What is more concerning is the number of players who have been injured in pre match warm ups - we must have set a league record for that as well this season?
