Disappointed it didn't work'out for Spittal here. Always thought he had potential, however it just did not materialise often enough. Personally I wish him arabest and hope he does well, except against us obviously. Guid luck to the lad at the decent Weegie club, could be a good move for him and will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Or maybe the young modern day footballer just doesn't put enough into their own game or have the will to improve themselves as a player.

To be fair Stoke, there are players who have departed who have pointed out that coaching was an issue! But that was during the Sackie and Mixu show who have left the next manager with a shell of a team. Ray has shown he can improve a player with Durnan, and i think we started to see that in Murray and Spittal towards the end of the season! 2 players who will come back and bite us in the erse!

Thing is, when you started working, did you know everything about your chosen trade? Whats so different about a footballer? From what im aware of at United, there was not enough teaching players how to play football and players like Spittal have suffered from that!

Let's not go down the "young players these days..." route. I'm sure every generation ever does that.sometimes promising players just don't blossom they way we thought they would. Sometimes a player suits another team better, same with managers. David Moyes for instance, did amazing work at Everton and since then it hasn't worked out for him anywhere else.

It's a real conundrum IMHO. The lad has talent, no doubt. However, we had our best runs of the season when he was injured.

Trebs, I don't know if I am following you right? Are you saying that although we were s**t, we were diarrhoea when Fraser wasn't playing?

Not sure I'd put it quite like that but if you mean we were worse with Fraser in the team then, yes.
