Thread: I`m a rubbish fan........

    I`m a rubbish fan........

Only been watching the Millers since 1979 and a season ticket holder for 15 years,so obviously I know nowt, and here are some of the many reasons why I`m not worthy.....

I have no idea how much any of the players earn.
I don`t hate Paul Warne,I don`t even dislike Ritchie Barker.
I like Tony Stewart`s ambition, even if it is a bit naive.
I don`t have an unnatural obsession with crap ex managers.
I have never bet against the Millers.
A relegation is not the end of humanity as we know it.
I foolishly renewed my season ticket after said relegation.
I don`t see the point of booing our own players, save that for the opposition and referees.
I have no idea if a new player is any good until I have actually seen him play a few times.

I could go on,but as you can clearly see,I should just keep away.....I`m rubbish.

    "Ignorance is bliss"

Football is a feeling ( human ) thing at it's best....

And the Shanks' "Life & Death" quote is right from time to time...for me....but as I passed 60th my patience has deminished and instead of live and let live I realised only the arr-soles benefitted from patience - so I give some back and more !

PS: There are many that wouldn't recognise "a good manager" if they smacked them on the nose....but at Rotherham that only makes you an average supporter.......

    My Millers life story:

    Been watching them since 65'
Had a season ticket for about half of that time, latest one since 1998
Don't have a problem at all with Warney/Richie or Tony Stewart
Never had a bet against the Millers
Relegation was going to happen one day, was how it happened hurts. Stubbs started the rot, budget gone
It goes without saying I always renew my season ticket
I don't boo players either side or managers/chairmen + officials
I make almost instant decisions on new players. I'm more right than wrong
But according to most on here I don't know anything

Steve Evans had the "Mini-Me - Fergie" ideology and he was the boss !

Love that because players are kids and take the pi55 if allowed - but not with Fergie or EVO.

GOOD manager except the culture of buying a squad per year has hurt us - but organic growth wasn't his remit....his remit was promotion. MAYBE the parting of the ways with EVO & TS was "BUDGET"

We've changed back to "organic growth" because buying a team at championship level needs the minimum of what Huddersfield spent AND WE NO WAY NEAR MATCHED THEIR BUDGET !

    - TIME WILL TELL ON THAT ONE !

AS FOR LIFE STORY.....YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT UP !

We couldn't match Huddersfield budget we had and still have so much ground work to do with the club it's going to take awhile. When Evans left we had no training ground building like what's has just been built and a pathetic youth system. If any one thinks oh we don't need that rubbish all we need is to spend spend spend then you are naive. Just look at how many players leave or get cut a season it's usaly around 8 that means we need to bring in new players (free transfers, bought players and youths) the more youths we bring in the less free has beens come in.
I hear it all the time on our street get rid of him buy him with what they say you'd need 5 million a year for players.
I don't think tony Stewart is naive at all I think he wants to create a club that can fund its self so when we are ready to push for the top he can put his own money in as an investment (because right now it's more of a gamble) so as a business man I think he is a genius.

I'm a fairly new fan I only started supporting the club when we moved out of millmoor I never liked that place or the old owner. But when I go to the NY stadium I feel like I have come home (silly I know)

Rest of what you said Towner I agree with ☝️
