All this should have been sorted weeks ago, to go into a Euro qualifier with only Rooney as a recognised striker is mince
Only recognised striker, apart from Stockley, Storey & Stewart you mean? I know the former is banned for two games, but we're not going to sign a striker for the sake of that.

It's more the width & creativity I'm worried about, not the central striker position.

Stockley - suspended for 2 games and unavailable
    Storey - utter gash
Stewart - not a striker, he plays wide right

    Shockley suspended yes.
Storey may yet become a key player. As stated many times, Hayes did not have a great first season, many questioning his ability to be a Dons player. It's possible Storey could push on.
Stewart agreed, plays behind the striker, left centre or right.

But Donna get yer knickers in a twist. Rooney will be starting and if something were to change that, DM has options, including putting McLean up front.

Did you also notice Anderson came on and scored?

We'll get another striker, but there no point in rushing an option through for next Thursday

Miles Storey will never be a key player for AFC - He won't even be an AFC player by the end of August, so forget that one.
And it's NOT about "rushing" - how long have known we'd be in a tricky QR2 tie?
Bruce Anderson may well be one for the future but are you seriously suggesting a 17 year old who's never played a first team game in his life will be used in a European tie?
And McLean up front? So sticking a midfield player up front is a good idea and likely to work?

They've been back for a few weeks now

We played McLean up front for 2 meaningless end of season games a few years back, we lost them 0-1 and 0-4 and he was utter gash because he is not a striker.

I think you are being a tad over confident that we will get through QR2 I dont think its going to be as easy as you think.

Storey is not the answer unless we witness the biggest comeback since Lazarus. KM is not a striker.

Unfortunately we appear to have put most of our eggs in the Stevie May basket and luck has dealt us a steaming t..d on that one. However, you cant exactly blame McInnes. He was talking about replacing quality with quality. With the funds we have this does involve taking an element of risk on players like May who was prolific at times in Scotland but for various reasons, probably injuries, has failed to set heather on fire down south.

It will prove extremely difficult to source 2 alternatives to a fit and on form Maloney and May on the sort of budget we are dealing with.

I agree with you, which is why to me we should have met Preston's asking price of 400k for May last week and he would already be here. Now that they have changed their manager I cant see it happening and as you say we will probably struggle to buy someone of the same quality on our budget.

McInnes said he has a plan B if we dont end up signing May, I really hope plan B isnt to give Storey another chance instead

    Correct
Think he's forgetting we were the width of a post from doing what the huns did and lose to a Luxembourg team last year in QR1.
suggesting we'd be ok with just Rooney and having any of Storey, McLean or an untried 17 year old up front is madness
Think it's over-confidence and bordering on arrogance to think we'll find it easy in QR2 with the squad as is
