So you think these figures should be quadrupled? I doubt that too. Looking elsewhere Arnautovic and Shaqiri said to be top earners on £65k in 2016

Global Sports Salary Survey (GSSS) shows that the average Potters player now earns £1.89million per year, at an average of £36,536 per week. This is the 12th highest average in the Premier League, and 127th biggest globally.

Ten Premier League teams now have players earning an average of more than £2million per year, with the two Manchester clubs' players taking home more than £5million each year. Newly promoted Burnley are the only team whose average player earnings are below the £1million mark, coming in at £954,417 per year

Reports coming into the earpiece that Boro have "Blown us out of the water" with a straight cash offer of £14 million and wages of £60k a week for Assombalonga.

    2 questions:
    1). Is Assombalonga worth that?
2). WTF is a Championship side getting that sort of dosh from?

No, the numbers don't need to be quadrupled OC because that list isn't complete, there are a lot of players missing. You say Arnautovic and Shaquiri were on £65k in 2016, that list puts them on £36k this season, clearly miles out. The table of average wages shows Stoke paying their players twice as much as us, which I believe is roughly correct. It's in our accounts that we paid £29.3m in wages two years ago in the PL, I've seen it reported that this season we paid somewhere between £35m and £40m, two years on and after the massive increase in TV money that seems about right, and also ties in with Stoke paying double as their reported figure this season is £76m. And yet that list doesn't even get to £20m, it's clearly a nonsense.

Lee Grant on £5k, I would think he was on more than that four years ago with us. Glenn Johnson, ex Liverpool, England International on £18k, he wouldn't get out of bed in a morning for that. Honestly OC, those figures are so far out I thought you were posting them for a bit of a laugh, I didn't think you were taking them seriously.

Boro received the increased PL TV money last season, almost as much as us despite relegation, plus they'll be getting the new parachute payments, plus they have a wealthy owner. Boro are not strapped for cash.
But let's just move on, their are plenty more fish in the sea.

That can't be right BT. The Forest fan told us that they'd already rejected £15m from Boro and they wouldn't consider anything less than £20m.

And you told us that he was coming here and wages are categorically not a problem, but I won't mention that.

Wages are not a problem but £60k a week for Assombalonga is stretching the imagination a bit too far for me.

Got to be a point where we tell the player and his agent to take up our free ticket on "Do One Airlines" and leave...

If we don't get a player we want because we can't meet his wage demands then, by definition, wages are the problem.

    OK, I'll rephrase.
