My company that I work for, is interested in setting up a plant in Thailand. The girl I deal with in the Thai government, suggested a holiday with them in their area.
We are able to produce a modular building material that they can produce themselves at low cost.
She has very graciously offered me a stay in Thailand and to talk business. I was honored and will willingly go.
You though, being the snide you are. Jumped in feet first and insinuated the sleaze side of Thailand and attached it to me.

2.Tourism is ***** to many EU countries. Our bucks have meaning. Would you really want to piss off your main customer?
3.Schengen is an EU weakness. The terror cells that roam at will have shown that. If the EU wants to get picky with us over travel, because we aren't in it. Then folks will go else where(see above). Schengen, has meant that border manning has been slashed, hence the problem being experienced by British travelers.
4. The EU has.It has been said in the European parliament, that both the UK and France shouldn't have a voice, as they don't speak for Europe.
Hence we go all the way back to "Superstate"

My actual skill is Engineering. At the moment I am working as the Engineering manager for a modular building company.
It is my job to install and instruct companies in how to replicate our product.
Yes I will be going to talk about how to do this. But I have (out of my pocket) turned it into an extended holiday.

Fair enough...you bang on about the prison service enough to have left that impression...but your argument about Thailand being so 'mega cheap' doesn't really bare scrutiny does it? It's 'mega cheap' because you're only going to have to part fund it...lol.
Anyway, moving on...if you're going to start quoting Darth Vader and assume that, because I obviously agreed about tourism being very important to many Mediterranean countries that I also agree with the idea of 'Brits' being the 'main customer', then I suspect we're on quite dodgy ground.

Frankly Anag I wouldn't believe a word Tricky says at a guess I'd say he was a menial warder in HM prison service, doubt he has either the wit or the skill t do what he says he is. lets face it nothing he posts has anything but a grain of truth, why would that change when he describes his job and isn't it funny that he siad he was off to Thailand as a holiday cos its cheap and the europeans can keep their resorts, then spins it into a pseudo job?

TRYING to get back on the right track with this thread, TTR is both right and wrong (or rather he has generalised). and I'll use my current domicile, Mallorca, to explain, then move on to Greece. I'm currently in a resort that would be a ghost town if it wasn't for Brits, my next door neighbour manages two huge hotels here and is on the tourism board, and yearly he begs the island govt to keep the Brits coming because, his words (sort of!) the Germans and Scandinavians wouldn't put up with the standard of most establishments in the resort so no Brits equals no resort. MEANWHILE Five miles down the road the next door resort is indifferent because it is nearly 100% German speakers. So overall the impact would be there, but would be localised. Ironically the biggest impact after Spaniards would be Brits, who staff many front of houses, and Indians/Sri Lankans who cover many back of houses. As far as I can see this dominance of one nationality (or group of) per resort occurs a lot at least on this island so there IS some substance in what TTR says. That's all conjecture about what COULD happen but I'm happy to share the Greece story if I haven't bored you

I'm sure you're right Andy and I have never disputed that the countries and areas of Southern Europe are hugely dependent on tourism.
Not just British tourism though, as seems central to whatever point Tricky is trying to make, but all the sun starved countries of Northern Europe and a fair few Russians too for that matter.
He's also made out that all is well with the post Brexit world because holidaying in Thailand remains affordable, only then...a few posts later... it turns out that his 'mega cheap' holiday is actually, at least partly, a 'business' trip so of course it's bloody cheap!
I'm tired of these half truths from those who seek to justify Brexit. 'Has the pound ever been lower?' he asks in some sort of half arsed justification of the fact that the pound plummeted following Brexit and has struggled ever since. Of course, historically, there have been times when the pound has been lower but that is entirely irrelevant to what has happened since June 2016 which, although it may have benefited some exporters, has directly led to more expensive imports - including crucially food - holidays etc and a generally lower standard of living for the majority.
Face up to it Andy, we're in a mess. Our government hasn't a clue...bitching, completely counterproductive elections and pointless cabinet reshuffles have become the order of the day. Farage, Johnson, Gove and company lied to exploit the nationalistic tendencies of a proportion of the population...they've been rumbled and, just like Tricky...their lies and half truths are, hopefully, about to find them out.
