I was there yesterday too, and as well as the baffling lineup and players out of position and largely negative tactics as already discussed, I do think a large contributory factor was a great many players having an off day collectively, and sorry I thought Rondon didn't look interested. Wouldn't be surprised if he ain't involved at all next week with Robson-Kanu back? I am just hoping this is an off-day and TP with the options available picks a more balanced team next week, with Brunt or Gibbs at left-back and not three defensive midfielders. I am neither a TP hater or fan, but I think next week is an already must win as we ain't played anybody of note yet so is 7 points from the first 5 games going to be a good return?

Leicester, Holmleigh and Tipperary, excellent posts and therapeutic!

Fact is Pulis plays the majority of the squad out of position and he appears afraid to set the team up with any organised attacking intent and just concentrates on a defensive mode. Absolutely terrible to watch, even with the occasional set piece goal. He needs to deal head-on with creative and troubled players much better and look to get the best out of them. We could do so much better utilising the creative talent in the squad against certain opposition, without having to compromise defensively. We have had one of the kindest run of opening fixtures ever in the PL and tougher times are approaching fast.

I feel most of the posts are fair and it is bizarre that against a team who had failed to score TP went in with 3 defensive midfielders. One thing I would point out is that a fair few players had played twice in the break. I may be wrong but didn't Rondon play in South America twice for Venezuela? If so no wonder he looked knackered - the flight time alone would kill most of us never mind the jet-lag. Maybe he just should have been rested?

Did anyone after looking at the team sheet think we would do any good...trusted stalwarts and playmakers left on the bench.

Pulis is a creature of habit the same as last year when Stoke were playing worse than Brighton are this term, he did the very same thing and sat back in defence allowing the freedom of the park, there were three games on the trot last year where threw possible points away by sitting back.

No one will ever convince me that Pulis is anything other than a total moron.

Why do the media insist that we are a small Club, and that we are lucky to have TP at the helm?
Some to$$er on talkSPORT mentioned this morning that Clubs like us will always struggle and we should thank ourselves lucky to make up the 20 Prem Clubs because of "the size" of our Club.

No! We are the 11th biggest Club in terms of the Football League's history (and the 9th best in terms of advancement in the F.A.Cup). What more do we have to do to assure people of our pedigree? Their argument is no doubt that we've done little since the Premier came into existence, and younger journalists look no further than the last 20 years. They're too lazy to appreciate what we've achieved in our 138 years.
If they measure our status through our feeble Home attendances, then they may be right, but it's certainly no measure of success: Revenue through the terraces is almost overshadowed by TV Revenue these days.
Why do our fans have such an inferiority complex, and believe we are lucky to have a Head Coach who sees us as a Club that can only survive by nicking a few scrappy draws with 25% possession of the ball? If we had seen the season through to the end in March/April/May we'd have been paid almost as much by finishing 7th than through our Turnstile Revenue.

    What is a big club?
    - Attendances...we're low on that compared the rest of the league.
    - Finances...we're about halfway up for wages and a lot lower than that for transfer fees
    - Silverware...We haven't won anything for 50 years

We're not a small club, but we''re not a big one in the premiership unfortunately. And in the eyes of the media, we don't exist. Outside of the top 6/7, and the London clubs who get a lot of media profile such as West Ham. Who else does? Perhaps Newcastle...that's it.

Its annoying when we get put down in the national media, but I do feel happy every season we manage to stay in the league. That in itself gives us greater profile, exposure and finances than being in the championship. I often think that Wolves fans thought they deserved to be in the prem, whereas we're just happy to be there. Each passing year we are in the prem though, the more I fear us as fans are thinking like Wolves fans were a few years back.

I remember the time when I could never see us back in the top flight, in the early to mid 90's. I don't want to go back to those days...
