It's hardly a "Health and Safety gone maaaaad" situation here. It is offensive and completely uncalled for.

Interesting stuff tonight at the Westhill Yes to Kingford meeting at the Holiday Inn, Westhill

As Aberdeenshire Council have already officially objected to this proposal, if the vote goes our way in October, irrespective of whether the No to Kingsford Group lodge an appeal, it automatically goes to appeal with the Scottish Office anyway , due to Aberdeenshire Council's stance, meaning a 2 or 3 month delay.

When Stewart Milne said he expects to have a spade in the ground by the end of the year should the vote go his way, its unclear whether that include this 2/3 month delay, but presumably yes.

And it the vote does go our way eventually, but with conditions, one of them being the footbridge, and the barrier by the dual carriageway, those will be located over the border in Aberdeenshire. Which means that AFC will have to apply to the Shire for planning permission, which the Shire will be very reluctant to approve

No excitement walking to the game with thouands. No fierce sense of this is our home when visitors come to the ground. No spirit in the stands. Soulless garbage. Football ruined for all future generations of Aberdonians.
    I'm afraid they don't.

Hmm.. The building of a Footbridge and some crash barriers is hardly going to stop the Stadium build though .

If the ground id getting built , and the Shire are open to ambulance chasing lawyer accident claims, they`d almost definitely build the bridge etc ?
And if they somehow chose not to , then surely they could be moved a wee bitty across the border into the Town. ( Ooh, there are planning restrictions that make that impossible ; Aye,right . !! )
Just as an aside. What`s the bets that once/if it`s built, that the Town Council then introduce Residents Parking Scheme in Westhills stopping Match traffic from parking anywhere near the ground !! ( Sorry, I don`t know if Westhills already has that ? ) Heck, we could put that to the No crowd. Think of the amount of money they could rake in renting out their drives and Visitor badges to match-goers !!

I'll apologise for sending you over the edge since it was my post that made you spew that particular venom out.

Perhaps an apology from you might be appropriate. I don't think you will though
You, like the majority of fans to be fair, have bought into the long hate campaign against Pittodrie, worried about a bit of wind or rain or queuing for a pie. Desperate for an even more sanitised version of football. You'll see what we've lost when it's gone. Maybe it's older folk for whom Pittodrie has lost it's touch, who knew a better version, but it has life that no out of town ground has, which it appears many will only understand once it's gone. A lot of people used to make light of some of the complaints but now it's outright incessant vitriol against our home, 'old decrepit sh*thole' and such like. I believe this is a factor in the absolute silence at the Kilmarnock game.

In what way can a differing council lodge an appeal on an approved planning application.

When a briefly reviewed the attached document, it only refers to appeals for a rejected application, not any escalated objections to local council approved plans

It was explained last night, as a neighbouring authority, and one in this case with a statutory consultatory designation, as they have objected it goes to Scottish Office as a matter of course.

There will be no AWPR/Willie Walton saga, as planning has changed, and the process now can't be held up in courts forevermore

Ok, but considering their objection was made prior to the final planning application modifications, does that make that decision moot and they would need to again, formally consider the application.
