Joe Ledley makes an instant impact and boy! oh! boy! do we need a signing like that.

Impressed me last night. He had what I term an "Alan Durban" type of game. Through the game you don't really notice him yet when you make up the balance you remember an interception here, a tackle there, a pass and, of course, a goal. What struck me the most was how he seemed to pace himself. Not anything like match fit yet so he didn't waste any energy. Get properly fit and we will see why he has so many inetrnational caps to his name.

Mmmmm Durban. Hopefully such attributes will bring our forwards into play more, the service to them through the middle has been shocking recently IMO

A midfield 3 of johnson, ledley and hudds isnt going to work, and you can see that after 1 game, none of them have any pace, and in johnson we have a player who cant move full stop, like a statue ffs

Ledley is better than johnson and should start ahead of him,, we need a faster more direct partner for him,,, kieftenbeld anyone?

Have to wait till January for Kieftenbeld. Maybe that is why Ledley has a contract up to then......

Also, was BJ in midfield or was he the #10 role in the middle of the three. Hudds and Ledders the MF 2?

yes and its not only not as good as the heady days of Durban et al but not as good as three years ago. And nothing 'clicks'. Its like the engine is still running but someone took the oil out.

I may be wrong but it appears my sarcasm hasn't been understood here. I was questioning whether the play of late has been good enough to be labelled shocking when it's actually much worse than that..........
