I remember all the panic about being able to keep Callum McGregor for the second half of the season when he was here till January, we finally got the deal done and extended it to the end of the season and he was barely involved in the second half... Derry was the manager though so he probably thought he had too much ability and wasn't enough of a clogger to get in his side.

In terms of Grant though I'm a bit more relaxed about it as I don't think Forest will think he can improve them as much as the Forest fans who see that he's scoring but aren't actually watching his performances and they presume he's carrying the team.

Very well put Freeman. Even though I really like Grant, I think that overall he played better last season than he has this one so far, but his goals have been grabbing the headlines. I think the contribution of Yates has been just as influential, but in a less spectacular way. He does the sort of underrated but ***** job Neal Bishop did so well in stopping the opposition playing. That role seems more the one Forest need now, but I doubt either of them are ready for the Championship just yet.
