Thoughts on who could improve this squad if and when TP goes.

I'm not an officionado of European leagues like I'm sure some of you are so I don't know of any "Wagner" types out there,I'll admit that.

I've admired the job Wagner has done and also the way clubs like Southampton and Watford have found good foreign coaches on a continued basis even though both dipped last season and made a quick change at the end of last season when it was clear their style wasn't suiting the club's perception of how they want to play.

I don't want Pulis replaced with an Allardyce or Hodgson though or Megson, surely we need to move on with a progressive coach?

What about your man that just got sacked by Bayern Munich?
Or how about the other fella that got sacked by Leicester?
Or may be even the fella who will be sacked by Everton shortly?
Sorry I cant think or spell their respective names....

Bit of a come down Bayern Munich to West Brom and Ranieri has a job if you look at the managers out there especially those that are out of work i can't really see who will improve us we could go down the European route but we tried that with Pepe and that didn't work out well, can you really see the owners taking a risk?

I have always given Pulis the benefit of the doubt even though his football has been awful to me and most Baggies.
He was the right man at the right time, when the club were disjointed and the dressing room lost.
I gave him the benefit because he got the best out of average players, and his record of never being relegated was comforting.
But now i believe we have the strongest squad of players we have ever had in the premiership, we have good players in every position, but he still plays them out of position, doesn't allow them to get forward or doesn't play them at all.
I don't believe Rondon is as bad as he seems, i think every drain of confidence has been drained from him by the negative way we set up, putting more pressure on him. Good strikers usually convert one in three chances, but Rondon doesn't get three chances.
That's the problem, we aren't creating chances, and flair players like Chadli, Phillips and Burke never get played or are played out of position or restricted from going forward.
Livermore hasn't had a good game for us for ages, yet gets called up for England and usually looks a decent player, why's that?
Like Mick pointed out J Rod is now becoming the new Rondon. If our style of play bores fans to tears, think what it must do to the players.
We now find ourselves in the same situation as the Don Howe era, a team with good players with an ultra defensive coach.
How about going for a player manager again,ie Gareth Barry? Or a young manager schooled in adventurous football, Ryan Giggs? Or make an offer to a manager already emplyed, Craig Shakespeare?
The lump of cheese we have has gone stale, and it's beginning to stink out the place.

I like your irony Dubs, but it has a ring of truth.
We always go for sacked aka failed managers or ones that have been out of work for years.
How about going for good managers still in a job for a change? Other clubs do it.

Good post 55 . Well their all decent in fact i have the same feelings , although Watford were the better team in my opinion i think we would have held on to win that last season & the Stoke game . We have a bigger squad & supposedly better player but something's not right , im fed up of TP saying the lads worked really hard everyweek all the teams we play work hard , or he blames the refs for this that the other , were all entitled to our opinions even it it don't rub with other posters but what i read on these boards is at least 75% of folk that post are not happy with our football or Mr Pulis. Is it due for a change ? or do we carry on with what we have ? I will say change is not working at Crystal palace .

Albion pay compensation for an up and coming manager Des :-)

Where have you been for the last 40 odd years.

Bert Millichip offered Ron Atkinson a 3.6 Daimler to join Albion from Cambridge Utd and Ron told him to f u c k off and said there's no way I'm dropping down from the 4.2 Daimler I'm driving at the moment!
