God point, Driller. On a similar plane, she pledged herself to more council houses (call it affordable/social housing, whatever) without pointing out that it was the Tories' great champion, Thatcher, who authored this mess by selling off council stock. And people wonder why I question the virtues of capitalism.
In fact her speech yesterday pinched from Labour's canon left, right and centre - social injustice, racial prejudice (stop & search). Most of what she said chimed with me but after 7 years why are the Tories still lacking in these areas?

Maggie sold off Council Houses to people that wanted to buy their own homes ie the tenants.....people that never could have afforded their own house on the open market......what's wrong with that Sid....surely the people at the bottom needed a "leg up"?....I know several that bought their houses that way, and they're glad they had the opportunity
