Not sure what to make of that game....Notts appear to be way off the pace for the 2nd game running.

2 shots on target all game, FGR had way too much time on the ball, we hustled and bustled without any real end product....too many players "went missing"...again

The ridiculous forecasts of 4, 5 and 6 goals for today were never going to happen because Notts haven't got it in them.
My warnings a few weeks ago that it all might turn into dust were jumped on because the supporters of this club - like they did with Trew - want to dodge the uncomfortable truths.
The only hope of getting back in this is with an in-form Ameobi and that's asking a lot for a man who's been injured for 4 weeks.
I think I'll stick by what I said at half-time, right down to Ameobi's reappearance sparking the team to life.
And Banjo is quite correct - you can be lucky. I'll list the ways.

They will have seen the Notts we all know and love. This goes back further than I can remember. Exeter at home back in 1971 to be presented the Division 4 trophy. Big crowd, play crap, draw 1-1. Oxford at Home after beating Leeds away in the League Cup. Big crowd, TV cameras, play crap, lose 1-0. There are many other examples.

People have to understand that supporting Notts involves a certain amount of suffering. Of course, those who didn't buy into the hype won't have had their hopes dashed. We're still not very good, clearly lack a decent striker (Shola is great but won't score many) and have a limited two banks of four type set up that makes us hard to play against but not great to watch. I predict a 9th place finish, based on grit and determination, not ability. The OP can STFU and let people say what they think, btw.

We're solid but don't look a top 4 team from what I've seen so far this season. However if we did manage to sign a quality striker and winger in January then I think we'll have a good shout for an automatic spot.

Now I don't disagree with playing football. But it is pretty much what made Allardyce and now Nolan relatively succussful by not gifting goals through giving the ball away in our own third, but doing all the play in the oppositions third. The players that can do that have had poor games today, notably Hawkridge, Forte and Grant. These things happen in League 2.
I have been to plenty of games this season and you still here folk giving it 'gerrit forrad'.. or 'stop pissin about at back'.
Forte, what game were you watching???? He was by far our best player, the only one showing any skill or desire.

I also thought Forte was our best player.

Forte was the only player who could hold their head up high after today.
