I stopped going because one man's ineptitude was destroying the football side of the club and his constantly crying wolf about finances when we were getting good ( for the 3rd div) gates just didn't wash.

Who had squandered the money in the first place? Who gave Nobson more than anybody else had had and then spent years regretting it and trying to recoup the losses and who suffered most during those times?
He only had to look into the mirror to see who was to blame.

He was lucky in that so many stuck with SUFC agreed and my admiration goes out to each and every one who did, for me it was a step too far and I won't become fickle by returning whilst he's there PL or otherwise.I have always said this and will stick by it.

As for giving credit then the orchard will be full of windfalls because I'm not giving a man with a 10% success rate any credit.

Enjooy the Peronis- always been your preferred drink or have you changed in the past few months?

Peroni,Corrs Light,Stella or owt else i get bought is my favrit drink mi owd pal. Ya mention abart Yorkshire bein without the England men, which obviously had a bad effect on the season for the White Rose boys but surely the management knew they would be without Our Joe,Jonny etc;and if The BLADES had injuries and the Board(King Kev)hadn't planned accordingly they wudda been slaughtered by some(you),would they not? Since he appointed Tufty he's got a near 100% success rate mi thinks but your Obsessive dislike of the man won't let you admit it,but each to their own.I'm lookin forward to seein our boys back in action on satdi,i think it could well be a 2-2 draw.UTCB

It might have passed you by, maybe all the beer and medicinal brandy, but there is no transfer system in cricket as there is in football so covering for injuries and unexpected England call ups is not as simple as (not) splashing the cash.

BTW It's CW who has the almost 100% success rate not McC.

Cherry picking one year's results over a decade does not give an accurate reflection of the real picture.

I suppose I could say he had a 100% failure rate in the seasons we were relegated based on that outlook and, let's face it, he's much more likely to be associated with failure than success when his period of tenure is reviewed.

In fact it has a nice ring to it " McC the serial footballing failure". Be a nice epitaph for him.

We, along with the majority of fans elsewhere, have not had a successful man at the top for more years than I can remember.
It is not easy this football club ownership lark TT.

I agree Chips, we've endured a long line of eccentric incompetents but anyone employing Nobson after Gibson at Middlesboro' had seen how he squandered vast amounts of money on the way to relegation ( and having to bring Venables in like some sort of Red Adair) just doesn't have the basic common sense to run a football club.

It's not as though football managers' c.v's are secret is itand Nobson's proclivities were well known within and without the game.

Bargepole do not and touch spring to the mind of anyone with an ounce of common sense where he is mentioned.

To compound the mistake with the subsequent 8 appointments beggars belief.

TT, in hindsight they do but not all of the appointments were greeted with shouts of "oh no!" from Bladesmen at the time.

Just most and especially the first after the PL which is when the rot set and led to financial constraints for years because, somehow, McC thought Nobson could do a job despite stacks of evidence to the contrary.

That's the one that rankles most and things like sacking someone 3 games into a new season do not help.

One thing that would go a long way is if McC put his hands up - publicly - and said 'sorry, I made some mistakes', rather than just basking in the reflected glory of what Tufty has done.

I think he's done this several times already, hasn't he..?
