Rowett won't be given a blank cheque book like previous managers were, I wish he were but it ain't happening now, he knows it and most fans know it bar you, we lived or tried to the good life, we threw money at it and it didn't work, not to say it's wrong to do that but its a risk that at the time the powers that be thought was worth taking, now's the time to be prudent, its a bit like forests situation at the moment, finished midtable with a few good performances and rebuild slowly over the next 2/3 or 4 transfer windows
We keep talking about rebuilding for the next couple of years but I can only see two of rowetts 7 signings being here in 2 seasons. Wisdom and Lawrence.. no ledley Huddleston Davies Baird Bent

We are not spending anything in January until we get rid of players first like we did in the summer and Rowett even admitted he wanted to get a few more players out but it wasn’t possible and that’s why, when it comes to January Rowett will get a few more players out of the squad that don’t fit and bring players in who do.

Bent will likely leave next summer.

Salopian, I think you will find that GR didn't sign Baird or Bent. They were here before he arrived and clauses in their original contracts that they met meant that they were entitled to ask for, and be given, a 12 month extension. They asked. They got. GR had no choice in the matter. Baird qualified on an appearances clause in his contract and Bent on appearances and goals scored.

Apologies ma. Was under the impression it was mutual but he did fancy bent as our main striker last season and beginning of this .and has preferred Baird to wisdom at times.

I've tried to set the snowball rolling. In another thread I posted something I believed to be true, Swale corrected me so I checked. Turns out we were both wrong so I printed the true info and provided a reliable source. Humble pie duly eaten.
