After surviving a trip from hell with 50ft waves (erm....approximately) the return journey was nice and calm but we had to use the International port instead of the usual one in Portsmouth due to some fun run or summat that was going off yesterday, anyway HMS Queen Elisabeth super carrier was moored there and it was a wonderful sight,it was massive up close, plus there was what looked like an old iron battleship from the 19th(?) century just a short distance from, may think about giving Portsmouth a visit some day instead of just driving though

Portsmouth is well worth a visit Chalky,Naval dock yards,Spinnaker Tower,Gun wharf shopping centre and the Royal marine museum at Southsea is a great visit... A good tip ..Park at Portchester, have a look round the Castle there and then catch train into Portsmouth they are very regular and the fare won't be as much as the parking charges in Pompey..( Unless Tricky knows some free parking there..)

    Does Tricky live in Portsmouth?
I could get some valuable tips from him if he does

Well done for making it back safe Chalks. As a midlander you must have more southern blood as no northerner would have dared to cross in that weather
