Going by some of the names mentioned, it looks like, quells suprise, we're going for the cheap option. If that's the case, I'd honestly just offer it to Houston till the end of the season, offer him a big bonus if he gets us up as a sweetener for having to work under Thompson again, then reassess our options in the summer. Not ideal, but he's tried and tested, and we know he's capable of getting results in difficult situations, even if it's not always pretty.

I feel I have to beat the old drum. We need TOF. Thompson Out First! Without this we are asking for more trouble. More papering over the Tannadice cracks.

Second this. Won't be optimistic about any managerial appointment until that man is gone.
I would go for Lambert as manager, although it is extremely unlikely that will happen.

Alts, go study my previous posts. Whilst I appreciate Ray had United playing poorly and had to go, I NEVER condemned him, nor shouted for his removal. Therefore any replacement was never on my mind. I fear for the survival of the Club more than I desire promotion this season because I see no future for our beloved Club whilst it sits in the cupped hands of the Thompson regime. Necessary as it is, replacing Ray is a moot point as far as I am concerned, because with the Club still under ST's Chairmanship, imo it matters not a whit who comes in, as it will be the same old story.

We are now left in situation 'Mixu MK II' where any incoming manager is going to have to work with the previous manager's team, with little prospect of adding or replacing players until at least January, by which time we could be cut way adrift? A new manager is on a hiding to nothing. We can all think what we like about Mixu, but he had both hands tied behind his back, resulting in his trouser legs getting wet.

Our current set of players have shown they lack the height and physicality (overall) to go with their footballing skill, showing virtually game after game they cannot compete as a Title winning team against any other team in this league. No manager is going to transform the current shower into title winners, unless there is huge investment in 4-5 new players all well above the standard of what we have.

My focus for the survival and revival of United sits firmly on the belief that Thompson must go first. Yes we have to now replace Ray, but I will be the first to state that I do not believe it will work out the way we want it to.

Since you have called me out (against my priorities), I have to state that I have not given a serious thought towards desired replacement. However, I do believe that Dick Campbell would do as good a job with the current crop of players as anyone. In which case we can look forward to plenty of Angus derbies before long!

    NOT Hughes or Pressley

As said elsewhere ST will go for the easy, cheap option with Hughes and think he has unfinished business after trying to get him in 2015. Ignoring past 2 years Hughes has a terrible record at ICT and raith getting RELEGATED TO LEAGUE ONE!

The mess and downward spiral of the club under Thompson shows no sign of ending
