He clearly had the same confidence in Tarko that I had. And let's be honest, Sean knows a centre-half when he sees one, and if me and Sean both were thinking Tarko is the bees- knees, then he must be, mustn't he ? Simples.
Been 100% with you all the way on Mee and Tarkowski Sinkov, and still am.

We weren't re-inventing the wheel or anything though with Tarko were we Dave, I thought it was obvious he was a special talent, and I'm just a bit surprised more people didn't see it.

The wish for another central defender from my point of view had nothing to do with doubting Tarkowski but concern that Long is not good enough to cover for any injury to him or Mee. That concern still exists.

I'll go along with that Donz, I wanted us to sign another CB, to replace Tarko on the bench, as cover and to step up if/ when Tarko moves on like Keane. I think it's a mistake not to have done and hopefully we'll rectify it in January. For the moment we're riding our luck, this weekend we have two strikers injured Wood and Vokes, what would our back four look like if it had been Tarko and Mee injured ? And it can happen, I can remember us trying to go a full season with just Marney and Jones as CMs, that didn't end well.

I thought he was a special talent when I saw him during Oldham's televised cup games years ago, was hoping we'd sign him then tbh.

With regards our main pair getting injured or sold, then Dyche also has the option of moving Ward inside, and has even played Charlie Taylor in that position at Forest. So beside Long he has cover, but it's not ideal.

Yes, we have options, we'll get a back four out onto the pitch, last season we coped OK with Tarko and Long playing together, I'm not sure Taylor and Long would be as secure. And if you start taking risks with your defence at this level you can get destroyed, as both Liverpool and Everton found out on Sunday.
