Looking at the ground, you wonder if you could just squeeze a Level 7 there if the stand went over the road? Cars would still be able to use Strawberry Place but it would be a tunnel...if it was feasible I'm sure the council would be keen to keep the club there and accept the planning proposals?

That was Shepherds plan, but Ashley's proposed student flats are going to be very close.

It'll be added to the price they pay. He said he wants the club to be able to progress didnt he. Do you not believe him? He cant get rid of the Strawberry so I'm happy. Lets not get our knickers in a twist over something we cant change. Just enjoy the current time, 7th in the league, there is a canny chance the club will be sold and our mackem brethren are in free fall and the cnuts on RTG are fyuriyus.

It is Zippity. I've just been up to the ground with my industrial 15ft tape measure. I measured the Leazes from turnstile wall outwards and did the same at the Gallowgate and there are 2in 3mm to play with. Given the use of my scientific calculator they could fit 7763 seats in the area from the SW corner of the Gallowgate/Milburn round to the start of the Gallowgate SE corner near the Strawberry pub. Hopefully any extension wouldn't affect the sun reaching the upstairs terrace.

That would look lush. It would be like Celtic Park. Surely they'd have to stop traffic before and after the match if that happened?

The traffic would stop itself to stare and gaze in awe and wonder at the magnificence in front of them.
