Though yet again we had a ref that was very poor.....Their number 10 should have been booked for kicking the ball away and then off for his second yellow... I sit up the top at the back of the Pavis, so not clear why their guy was sent off, was it an elbow ?

The player jumped up for the ball with Tootle but deliberately stuck his elbow into the back of Toots's neck, could have been nasty.

Great stuff watching Ameobi today, tricky on the ball, passing it well, taking two defenders wherever he went but still leaving them in circles. He was loving every minute of it too, a big toothy grin and a wave to the Kop when he scored and at the end of 90 minutes. He deserved his huge round of applause and milked it too, the crowd loved him.

Agree, some of his decisions were baffling. The worst of the fouls went unpunished (like the knee high late challenge on Hewitt and Duffy pulling back their attacker) and some soft ones earned a yellow. We were also denied two penalties which looked clear cut.

Notts did the same thing, 2nd half, against Lincoln (also reduced to 10 men). The guys can play far better football than they routinely serve up. Confidence???
