    As expected.

I don't think many of us on this forum expected anything else but an away win today. To be honest, I thought 2-3 flattered us as they were far the better team. Having said this, a minus one to our goal difference was OK as they will beat other sides by bigger margins.

What concerned me most about today's performance was our inability to pass the ball to each other when under no pressure at all. Time and time again we gave the ball away, which against sides like Man. City, is a recipe for disaster.

It is ***** that we beat Huddersfield next Saturday so please, please TP, pick a side to attack them and not to play like we did at Southampton, which was embarrassing.

Better than last week, but they are a different class and Mike Jones was the ref.
Man City were a club on the verge of going bump, the tax payer gave them a new stadium and then they spent over billion. Financial fair play my @rse

I felt the game would spell the end of Pulis IF we had lost by a wide margin. As it is he lives to fight another game. Defeat at Hudders ought to be his Waterloo but..... What we do have though are the fans speaking with their feet. Those empty spaces today were alarming surely the owner is not blind to this? Lucky we have SKY money eh!!

    "As Expected" indeed Leics buddy.
Also your comments regarding giving the ball away are spot on. VERY frustrating.
Having said all that, I thought the team put up a spirited and committed performance. No complaints in that regard and some decent individual performances...

Hegazi. Maybe one of his best for us. Like others here, I have been concerned over some of his previous performances, but he did well today.
Foster. As ever, kept us in the game.
Grego. He continues to impress. No doubt his header will be scrutinised, but at least he headed in down.
Rondon. A much much better performance.
A few negatives...Nyom's positional defending...but again he demonstrated commitment.
Barry...his poorest game. Certainly not his impressive norm to date.
    Gibbo...again not his best.
Overall though, I didn't leave the ground distraught !

    Huddersfield a must win.

Every game should be seen as a must win, otherwise what's the point in turning up.
No such thing as must win and no consequence games.

I was an "empty seat" today.

45 years of support from me but today the pull of 4-5 mile jog through the pastures and woods of my new Worcestershire surroundings were too strong to ignore.

I gave Albion and Stourbridge FC the swerve today and I can say with hand on heart I didn't miss the football for a minute.

As a younger man I was confused as to how my father and his father, who were both very good amateur footballers, could "go off" football in their latter years but I'm now getting it.

I think a lot has to do with the dross that Albion and Stour dish up these days but I watched utter s h y t e for many years without missing a game.

You won't miss it Mick. We moved to Hinksford three years ago. Saturday afternoon walks through the farms and woods with my wife, followed by a few drinks in the Navigation is much more enjoyable.
Rarely watch football now, not even on the tv.

    I think you're right Des.

It's likely that my three month old grandson might mean a re-kindle some desire in the future but for now I'll just pick the odd match I think.

If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise.
    If you go down in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise;
For every Newcy that ever there was will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the Three Fingered Dingles have their picnic

Every Newcy who's been good is sure of a treat today.
There're lots of left overs to eat and toddler games to play.
Beneath the trees where nobody sees they'll hide and seek as long as they please
For that's the way the Dingles have their picnic.

I see plenty of 'Baggies' fans came to the match today dressed as plastic seats.
