I think a few opposition managers will have realised that Williams cuts inside 9 times out of 10 which makes it easier to defend against him.
Williams has even described himself as more of an inside rather than an outside winger when he'd have been better keeping his gob shut.
I can't see any problem with wingers switching wings from time to time to at least give defenders a bit more to think about.
We were just too predictable today and Gillingham got their tactics spot on even though they weren't very good either.
No arguing that they deserved to win though.

Spot on mellow, Warne just couldn't fathom a plan b. Williams was terrible today by far his worst game for us, agree Gills weren't that much better but far more physical, and frightened our lot, keeper really poor, and all defence. 3 free headers ffs. Onwards n well hopefully better to come. Yates on for last minutes what's the point in that. Saturday spoiled, well done England young uns get in. UTM!!

I was sat right behind the the ball as the crosses came in for Gills 2nd and 3rd goals and our defenders misjudged the flight of the ball on both occasions

This head of recruitment: I'm telling you I could do the job a lot better, for a lot less money. Players we've brought in would say only Ihwieke, Potter + Williams & Moore have cut the mustard. Rodak, Emmanuel + Bray & Ball don't rate at all. Ball is to slow & not direct enough for us. O'Donnell, Ajayi + Purrington & Towell jury is out. Cummings doesn't look fit to me. This Manny? what was the point. We needed someone now. On top of that Wood & Mattock need replacing. Forde, Yates get shut in January, not good enough. Let's see what Bailey-King, Hinds & Wiles can do.

Has anyone mentioned Newell yet,we were playing with ten men before Mattock went off,Newell is no central midfielder and never will be not physical enough, and is far to inconsistent,a place on the bench is the best he can hope for, shows glimpses of quality, but never enough of it.

Newell can go I January. Gone backwards. Potter, Vaulks build midfield round them this season.

For me Forde should never ever play on the left again because he doesn't have a left foot and doesn't have much ability at cutting inside, takings his man and on to his best foot like Williams so they should have swapped wings to start with.

Mattock should be done in a millers shirt imo, thats the 2nd needless sending off towards the end of the game now and becoming too much of a liability. Hopefully Purrington is back soon and cement his place.

Wood is Wood, you get a few steady games off him then he becomes a defensive nightmare, too slow to react to crosses and through passes and starts to give silly passes away. We could do with a better experienced center back in Jan.

Not sure if PW is doing a good job so far because we are so inconsistent it's unbelievable. We have lost 7 games already which is shocking and conceded 3 goals, 3 matches on the trot. We don't seem to have a plan B when plan A doesn't work like yesterday and his substitution at times are questionable as well. He was all set for bringing on Yates around the 78th min yesterday which should have been for a full back until a full back looked injured, he waited and told another defender to start warming up even though we are losing at home to bottom of league and eventually fetched him on 10 mins later for a midfielder when the match is over shocking. Im not bothered about the 2 cup games coming up but if we under perform at Donny and get another loss then he's gonna be under pressure imo.

Warne will not be under any pressure from TS,his appointment was to just steady the ship, after a disastrous season in the Championship, and a cost cutting exercise, after the Chairman's poor appointments of previous managers, what must have cost the club a small fortune.

I have been thinking of the Mattock sending off.

If anyone watches the footage again have a look at the three or four Gillingham players who formed a line verbally abusing him as he was walking too and from the referee.
This was the ideal point for a fourth official to do his job and protect Mattock and their players.

Don't get me wrong I thought Mattock was unprofessional and a tw@t for doing what he did but I kind of get what he did and why he did it.

He didn't punch anyone and his push would't effect the pushing over of an old woman!

Correct Frog, their player (who also went in pointing and having a go at the ref) was still having a go at Mattock when he was sent off and that's the reason some fans round me were having a go at the ref

I like to know why the ref didn't think it was necessary to talk to them.

We have clearly upset the officials again

The club need to fine Mattock imo and get him to clean the academy boots
