    Fickle

I´d expect it from the press but not from a lot of our supporters to be showing how fickle they are.

Almost everyone was agreed that Rafa had no money to invest in players and survival in the first season back was the only important thing.

Now I´m reading that the team selection is wrong and we´re playing boring and negative football. I get the impression that if we were second in the table, some would be complaining that we weren´t first.

How can anyone expect positive tactics and free flowing attacking football from a limited squad such as ours? It´s like Rafa is being punished for the good start we have made, having raised expectations. If we were down at the bottom of the table with Palace, would people be asking us to attack more?

It´s like he said yesterday, if we had beaten Burnley then people would be talking about Europe. Now we lost people are talking about a relegation scrap. He must be laughing his t*ts off at some of our supporters.

I think you're making a very good point there! I myself have been frustrated slightly with the way that we seem to almost not want to attack, and that we have two strikers on the bench that I find to be more capable than the one Rafa is playing. I don't see the point in not giving other players a chance, and it's strange because Rafa is known for rotation within the starting eleven. I'm delighted he seems to have sorted out the defence, but it seems to me that we could play less defensively and try to attack a bit more in certain games, like the one against Burnley.

But these are little things. Overall I'm very happy with our start in our first season back up, where staying up has always been the main goal. Anything more is just a bonus to me. Rafael is doing a great job, and we look very hard to beat at the moment. And unlike others I've heard, I'm not going to stop watching us play or anything like that, though I'll admit the matches do get a bit boring at times with our current defensive tactics.

    Fair points Toptoon.

I think having been starved of any form of success and stability for so long, now were getting a bit with Rafa we want to rush forward.

I'm happy with where we are and if you offered me 17th guaranteed now, i'd take it.

Just have to survive this season.

As several of us have stated Rafa is working to a plan. He has been restricted by the usual constraints which Ashley has imposed on him and most of our past managers but never the less Rafa is going ahead and attempting to do the best in a safe way with the tools at his disposal.

This plan has worked well in the past for Rafa at his previous clubs and there is no reason for it not to work here given time and patience.

The moaners amongst us need to consider where we may have been had the likes of MacMuffin been allowed to continue.

Instead then of talking about boring football just think how boring it is to read posts continuously from boring posters who can do nothing but moan post after post after post.

Hey plastic try going to the games to witness this boring footy
it seems to me in most cases those not having to watch the numbingly boring footy are the ones happy we are just surviving and happy what rafa is doing

yet peopel point out he wont play attacking footy having brought mrphy gayle and yet wont play them

we have always been the entertainers
under rafa we are the bore specialists

we couldnt even look convincing in the fizzy although we did get the result
but surely having spent the money he has and did we should be producing something a little more watchable than we are

    especially at home

ok for the remote brigade but us match going people are slowly getting bored withe being bored

and he hasnt done anything more for this club than his salary dictates he should be doing
he is a very highly paid manager
and has a duty to do what he is doing

he is doing no more than any other manager on his salary and in his bracket would do at a club .that is why ash pays him the money he does

maybe he should pay him a bonus for playing attacking interesting footy

    Some good ignoring there Pboro.

Remember how you've repeatedly said you're now going to ignore Pat.

I'm sure you'll say that Pat is talking about you in the moaners line but he makes no reference to you at all. So please don't try and go down that route.

I know you will anyway Pat but please ignore him. That way the thread can continue without it going into a Pat/Pboro trip.

if thinking Gayle and/or Mitro should play instead of Hosses poo, Diame or Perez, is fickle, then I'm guilty.

I don't see his posts now Jammy so anything he waffles on about or twists the truth about is water off a duck's back.

It's a bit like listening to a dumb man talking in his sleep.

Why? Does Murphy look good live, because he doesn´t on TV. He´s clearly not good enough yet - not written off, notice - but not ready yet.

By the way, we do get to see the games on TV and while I admit that you don´t see the shape of the team as well as being at the ground, it´s still easy to see the tactics being played ad performance of the players.

Of course, I would like to see us attack more and have more goal threat but not at the expense of not picking up points and having a real go at staying up this season.
