Call me a daft apeth but if the players apply themselves and give it their all it doesn't r8 matter whose in charge. Barring last three results we've done sweet Fanny Adams anyway. What will be will be ( as it happens I think he'll stay). Would I be bothered if he goes? No I won't. There will be ump**** managers in future as there was in the past

Very true steve , anyone from our recent past you'd swap Hecky for ?

It's often said you don't realise what you have until it's gone .

Some big shoes to fill should Hecky leave mate , Devaney , Hassell , do me a favour .

Outside of the club , Grayson perhaps , the Shrewsbury lad Hurst , really !!!

Not that simple when you break it down steve .

If Hecky left for Sunderland, under the present board his assistant would take over. Under Mr Lee some other manager may be a assistant manager from Nice.

Simply promote from within should Hecky leave in my opinion. It keeps the wheels in motion and the momentum of the club going. Rather like the Anfield boot room years ago.

Why not Hassel or Devaney Animal? What is the difference between them 2 and Burton and Hecky? (Apart from em being frum tarn)

Just a feeling in mi water pass , could be wrong and they may step up and take it on even further , just don't get the same vibes with those two that I had for Hecky .

Not a tarn thing at all , Hassell is practically Barnsley through and through with his number of appearances and length of service .

I get thi point about the Liverpool boot room but that was way back , different game nar .

If our system and mandate is totally sound then it's possible they could step up and carry on but it's still fairly early days yet with the club's plan to make a sound judgement on that .

This takeover is another factor too , we aren't sure about that as yet and how they want to progress .

Let me put it to thi another way , if Hecky had gone at the end of last season and Hassell and Disco were building the new squad , how confident would you be ?

Not very confident but whoever was faced with responsibility of managing this club in summer 2017 was faced with an unenviable task. However, I'm always willing to give folk a fair chance.

I always think that good, solid pro's make decent managers. Look at the success weve had from managerial novices we've appointed from within.

Wilson was a great pro- Achieved the dream.

Ritchie was a good honest pro- Promotion

Davey wasn't much of a player but did really well to keep us in the Championship.

Flitcroft was a good pro- Kept us up somehow

Hecky was a good honest pro- Promotion and kept us up comfortably

On the flip side of the coin mate you could say Viv Anderson (outside novice)was disappointing but after a bad start we turned the corner and he changed the mentality of the players. You could argue that he put the foundations in place regarding the good football we played and had success under Wilson with.

Super John was given good money to play with but was disappointing with that squad of players he had.

    Paul Hart (outside novice)was disappointing

Its proven to be more successful appointing from within. I don't think there's much doubt about that. I appreciate that the game has changed since the Anfield bootroom days but I always feel that the key to success for us is continuity throughout the club, especially at our club who with all due respect haven't been able to move with the times in a financial sense.

We've had far too many managers over the years who've all had their own ideas, criticised previous regimes and changed everything which has seen us suffer.

Disco and Hassel were good pro's who always gave everything for the club. In my eyes they definitely have enough respect to do a job here.

I’d offer it to Jamie Clapham if Hecky went which I don’t think he will .
