    Best ever squad???
    Worst ever Front players!!!

Pulis didn't even coach to improve our forwards. The only coaching he did was 10-man defensive drills.

I do believe that like Pulis, Pardew will benefit of Brunty returning to the fold...we improved a bit versus Swans when he came on...although he did look as if he was carrying a bit of weight which is expected as training will have been limited with his calf injury.

Lets make a list of the rubbish signed by Pulis that the next manager (in this case Pardew) has been left to work with. Livermore, HRK, Rondon, McClean, Nyom, Burke, Rodriguez, The pole, every one of them useless. I'll tell you what i'll give you a glass hammer then blame you for not knocking nails in with it.

Livermore plays for England, so whilst he's inconsistent for us, you can't say he's rubbish as for what we paid for him, no doubt we would get double now - rightly or wrongly! Rodriguez was decent for Saints but injury prone so lets see if Pardew can get the best out of him. Give Burke a chance........... Nyom started well and cost peanuts. McClean has been one of the best players when he's come on and what he lacks in talent, he makes up by working his socks off. HRK was only ever meant to be cover and cost peanuts. Rondon started off well so again if we were to say it's the fault of Pulis, then perhaps a better manager may get the best out of him.

So now look at Darren Fletcher a free - went because our Board did not match his salary. Evans cost 6 million and our best player and most likely will go for 20 million. Gibbs is a decent signing and will get better. Brunt last year played his best football for many years. Phillips is decent when fit and what we paid for him, no doubt we would get double now. Barry still decent whether he fits in the jigsaw or not. Chadli was really decent before he got injured so if Pardew is any good, he should get the best out of him again.

In summary - bet the players who came in would make more profit if they left us even taking into account the dud ones which have not worked out as happens with every club. You could say Berahino got his opportunity under Pulis before his head got too big.

Don't get me wrong - Pulis needed to go but we finished 10th last year and almost every comment was/is - we have the best squad ever so Pulis needs to go. So on the basis last year we finished 10th with a poor last third - surely with a better squad now with 2/3 of the season to go - why should we not be aiming for at least 10th!

Don't buy all this ****e about being left with crap etc etc. Pardew should get on with it but the players were woeful on Saturday!!!

I maintain Fletcher did not go for financial reasons but because the Anti coach dropped him for Field and stopped his run of consecutive starts.
Every player is costing more now haven't you noticed ? It's an inflated market. Nothing to do with Pulis turning them into world beaters.
And yes he has left a bunch of "run around a lot" players a load of tat. No balance to the team whatsoever.
This is how far we have progressed under Pulis. We can't wait for Mozza and Brunt to be fit. That says it all.
Pardew will not be judged by me until he has his own players.
Oh and Mcclean has never and will never be any good.

I recommend the perusal of post # 29 by Yarmbaggie (commented on by me in post # 31), describes our predicament well and gives some perspective to it in my opinion.

So must be inflation then Evans at 6 million and now worth 20m and for sure Livermore and Philips will be worth double that! That's one feckin big inflation! I know for a fact from inside knowledge that Fletcher and Berahino are on more cash!

The football may have been tat as you call it but sorry it's no fluke where you finish over a season in the premiership. There are better players this year than last year, so not unreasonable for Pardew to get us to at least 10th!!!

Must say, I won't judge Pardew until about the 10th game, but will say a new manager usually brings zip and a confidence factor. Against the worst team in the premiership on Saturday the football was even more garbage than what we have seen in the past. Lets hope things start to improve.

Getting rid of Pulis at the time may have been the best thing but we needed a young forward thinking dynamic manager that will have cost a lot of cash - that's called ambition. To replace Pulis ( never been relegated ) with Pardew and Carver who Palace and Newcastle supporters could not wait to see the back of - may come back to haunt us big time!

Gibbs is a good buy but I don't think Pulis wanted him from the get go. He wanted Wimmer to play left back and look at him now cor get a game at Stoke. Gibbs was more a last resort he is not a Pulis player.

Yes it is big inflation but it is a fact. Look at what lesser centrehalves have gone for this summer. Phillips and Livermore are not worth what we payed for them. In 18 months Phillips has played well for a month Livermore has done nothing.
The football is still garbage because believe it or not the players are still rubbish. He is trying to polish a turd.
Pardew has inherited a team that has won three times since March. A centre forward that has scored three goals in a calender year, one that was released from a championship club that no one wanted and Southampton's fourth choice forward.
Your Pulis has never been relegated comment. You only need the "The best man to keep us up is Pulis " comment and you've covered all the cliches
You won't judge Pardew til 10 games??? Look at the thread title and look who started it.

Revisited those posts and wouldn't disagree. The only thing i'd add is that I think TP had far more clout than previous managers on the signings. He is far too arrogant not to.
