Looks like he'll have to play his over priced, over rated striker Gray then.

You all know I have at least one mate or proper contact at virtually every club across the divisions.

Harry the Hornet thinks we are the biggest set of robbers since the Brinks-Mat heist.

He agrees with Alto (who I presume Harry has never met?) that Gray can't trap a bag of cement.

Harry believes 100% wholeheartedly (I kid you not!) that transfers between EPL clubs should be on a "sale or return" basis.

Andre would have been back at the Turf mid-October, if Harry had his wicked way!

I did suggest a few weeks ago that Watford might take us to court under the Trade Descriptions Act. However on checking, it appears an offence has only occurred if Watford were encouraged to buy Mr Gray by false or misleading statements. Well some journos might have gone overboard about his ability, but the club said nothing, as is their wont, in the lead up to the sale, so they cannot be held culpable, and if anyone connected with Watford had read this forum they would have been made aware that they were buying a player who had great difficulty trapping the proverbial bag of cement, and trapped it further than my grandad could throw his cap. A player who had scored just 4 goals all season from open play, and wasn't even a regular starter by the last half dozen games in one of the lowest scoring teams in the division.

All I can say to Watford is, CAVEAT EMPTOR, you fecking mugs.

An absolute dive fest in tonight's Leicester v Man City match.

Will action be taken? What do you think.

FA are not fit for purpose.

I won't argue with that, they haven't got a clue.

Ridiculous, to be sure.....the foul on Gray by Walker - as most others - can't see why the ref gave the penalty - the ball ran away to Gray's right - so he needed to stretch to hook it back, using his right foot - he had a trailing left leg and I think realised the ball had got away from him....so just lifted his right leg to under the left.....and fell (dived) to the ground.

    ....games swarming with con artists.

You assured us at the start of the season that diving would be punished by you, retrospectively if necessary.

Well, as a Burnley fan I can only assume that you have one rule for Burnley and a totally different rule for the other teams.

Silva (Man City), Ramsey (Arsenal) and Murray (Brighton) have all cheated themselves penalties against us recently. BLATANTLY cheated them, yet you have not even investigated the incidents.

These penalties have cost us precious points. Burnley pride ourselves on playing the game in the right spirit, but as a fan since 1962 I feel that the time has come for my team to bring diving into our repertoire. If we can't beat them, join them.
Thanks a bunch for your retrospective "punishment" to divers. You really are stealing wages from us football fans by your incredibly inept management. Or, dare I say, the way you favour certain teams over others. Either way, it is simply not good enough.

I really dislike how you are allowing the game to descend into a game where cheats prosper. Our children look up to these players as heroes, and it is becoming more and more common to see junior footballers taking a dive. And they are right to do so. Because at the moment it is an acceptable part of the game.
Well, if your name is Murray, Silva, Ramsey, Lukaku, Vardy etc etc it is anyway.

If you play for Burnley you are likely to receive a three match retrospective ban for a bit of handbags. And who do Burnley play in those three games? Oh look, Man Utd, Liverpool and Huddersfield.

At the moment, I am so disillusioned with it all that I much prefer playing in the Championship. But the money is good in the Prem, as you very well know because of the amount you are trousering for doing.....what exactly?
The unabridged reply from the English FA:

Thank you for your email and for the comments received.

In consideration of your comments we respond accordingly.

The recent Brighton Vs Burnley game included a penalty given by the referee for a foul on Murray. The Referee had not given a penalty in any of the previous games he has refereed this season. Clearly he believed he witnessed a foul in the penalty area. He may have got that one wrong. However, I assume that your comment "Playing the game in the right spirit" includes not elbowing into the ribs of an opponent?. The referee missed the Burnley player who did that. Had he seen it would have resulted in a penalty and a sending off. So the scales seem to have been balanced in your favour.

Divers are cheaters. And they are booked accordingly. Sometimes it may seem that the booking is harsh and that the player didn't dive but was, in fact, fouled. The only comment we have is that when it is viewed as diving action is taken at the time. Diving is distasteful. But violent action towards a fellow professional is probably a higher level of distaste.

We do however make the odd exception. For instance it would be akin to slicing off our noses to spite our own two faces if we had retrospectively banned England internationals Delli Ali and Harry Kane for perceived violent action.

Kevin de Bruyne poses a real threat to the FA's chances of pecuniary advantage and progress in the group stages of the World Cup. The English FA therefore regard players such as the immensely gifted de Bruyne "fair game" and we encourage the real possibility of putting them out of action until August 2018 at the very least.

The FA's Panel Review of James Tarkowski and his subsequent 100% certain three match ban for the criminal assault on the innocent bystander Glenn Murray, also took into account Tarkowski's previous vicious assault on Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey.

The FA simply must make a stance and protect the perceived cheats and divers, otherwise the beautiful game will fall into the hands of vigilantes like Tarkowski, who decide to take the laws of the game into their own hands and mete out their own punishment to the known divers such as the entirely innocent Glenn Murray.

The FA must also take into account the financial rewards that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur contribute to the FA Treasurer's purse and therefore each have a FA "Certificate of Exemption" granted.

It would have been a clear breach of this protocol if Ali and Kane had been unavailable as the mighty Spurs challenge Burnley for a place in the EPL top six in the live televised BT game.

To weaken one of our own "Big Six" may well have reduced the viewing figures and again it must be pointed out the positive effect on the FA Treasurer's purse both BT and SKY bring to ourselves and our feeding partner, the English Premier League.

Please be assured that we do not view Burnley in any other light than with affection. We have great satisfaction that the league is healthy, vibrant and open to all who compete despite acknowledging that we must constantly be on our guard to protect this great game of ours.

    Sincerely

    The FA
