    If folk don't like poncey restaurants then it's ok. You do all now you don't have to go to them?

    Sometime you dinna ken though and you are left with the unwanted surprise of a quarter of a plate of food being set out in front of you

    Aye, mebbe, but it is possible to be blindsided......say yer first time in a funcy place for an anniversary or the like, or if you're awa fae hame someplace.

    It's possible to have a nice, high-end, "occasion" type restaurant without going down the Nouvelle route.

    Exactly what happened in the Granite Park to me on my anniversary. I remember apologising to the ex for suggesting it. Then moaning to Jessi who we bumped into in the near by Under The Hammer

    You shouldn't get blindsided. The price will generally dictate the style. I'd always check the place out online first.
