Whatever it is, there is something that is keeping ST at Dundee United and I don't think it is 1) because it is good for his health, 2) he is doing it for the benefit of the Club, or 3) there is no one interested in taking over the Club.

Dundee United provide a Chief Executive employment and lifestyle for ST. For him to surrender the reigns, the alternative has to at least guarantee a continuation of the standard of living he has grown used to as well as support his future ambitions. Any offer, no matter how fair or beneficial, if it does not meet these standards, lies out with acceptable boundaries for ST. The type of offer ST may have set his sights on settling for, might only be made for a stable Top 6 Club, and this may be his pipe dream. Such a pipe dream will only see us plunge further towards oblivion.

Let's hope that if it is true, the revealing of the identity at a time outwith the prospective bidder's control doesn't scare them off.

If true this is very interesting and a positive sign that there may be imminent movement hopefully.

Best for all concerned if Thompson moves on as soon as possible . Please go and let us rebuild our club.

Thompson has been offered the “sell for a pound and I’ll sort the club out deal” several times from various different people/groups. He wants 2m that’s his price, after United he will have nothing and no income. All we can do as fans is put pressure on him and make his position even more untenable. Another thread saying Mike Martin wants the hot seat? He can **** off as well, him and Thompson have ruined this club.

Read about this Gillian Bayford, won £148 million on the Euros a few years back. Was a healthcare assistant so looks like she has no proven business acumen.
This is all hearsay but what I would hope could happen is she contacts the various supporter factions, giving them the proposals of what she is looking to do with the club. If sound then a pressure group can be formed just like ET and United for Change back in the day.
Hopefully this is not a pile of BS.

Aside from the fact that she’s now worth more than double the amount that she and her ex-husband won, and runs a successful property business in Carnoustie?

If this is correct, then surely Thomson will be gone by the end of the season at the latest.

If the majority of supporters say they won't be renewing their season tickets for next season with Thompson in charge, then he would be mad to turn down 1p and the wiping of the debt, never mind getting 500k.

The club would be running at a loss and the money would need to come out of his pocket. I assume he couldn't take the club into administration when there is someone out there willing to wipe out the debt and take over the business as a going concern.

Would it be as easy as that?
