I think your right re the loan options as a just in case position. If we stay up: then possibly under the current situation we have a number of scenarios:

    1. Buyout - Rafa stays
    2. Buyout - Rafa goes wrong new owners or they want their own manager
    3. No buyout - Rafa goes
    4. No buyout Rafa stays and is offered the new TV money?

If we go down then Rafa goes, then club spirals potentially into even more mess. Chances of coming straight back up this time not good and so on.....

Rafa will not walk ..end of , assuming the £6m quitting clause is in place . His best option is getting the bullet , and getting a bit compen .
Can't see Ashley saying to Rafa here's £130m tv money either ., will be more of here's £20 million and flog some players .

Wrong... Rafa can walk with 0 penalty in the last 12 months of his contract... as in the end of this season.

Why do you think the club tried to get him to discuss extending during the window? Any sale of the club (despite what some might say) is increased by virtue of having a Champions League winning manager at the helm.

I'll wait till the window shuts to see who puts pen to paper or who shy's away or collapses a deal or whatever.
All speculation at this point as to what will happen.
We know what the probables are and the possibles....but we still have the potential shocks to come with them or alternate to them.

When it closes I'll make my thoughts known on it all as we all will, I'm sure.

I´m reading that Slimani´s injury isn´t that bad and he may make the team for Palace.

Could be the same injury that Mitrovic has.

It's weird this loan stuff because I've just found out on good authority that Kenedy persuaded Slimani to come on loan.
Apparently they both went to different schools together.

Um that is odd, though from their perspective why would you come other than on loan given our perilous state?
