My view, for what it's worth, is that the mighty Wolves only tore us apart for one goal. One world (or lucky off the post) and one deflected goal added to the score. Wolves are certs but not evedr team is a Wolves.

    Replace Enda and go again.

Last night was a reality check.

    It told us two things

    1) we had a magnificent start with largely average players performning well above themselves and feeding on the confidence it gave

    2) like it our lump it, next close season will be critical, IF WE WANT TO COMPETE MEANINGFULLY at the top end of the Championship. CW needs a massive cash injection to do so. You can't expect to be competing at the top end by buying L1 or lower players and hoping that 10 out of the 11 play a blinder every game.

Someone somewhere seems to have buckled our swash 'cos there's little evidence of any of that early season swagger at the moment.

Hopefully results don't fall away as the confidence ebbs away but we have achieved number one aim , to stay up.

BTW has leon's drop off in form coincided with taking the caaptain's armband or is it just the lack pf service?

Rome wasn't built in a day - we have to be patient and believe. I have erased most of last night from my memory (red wine) and am now looking forward to the next Big Match......UTB - we will get there.

No it wasn't Aya (or s they say) but you can't dispute they had the resources needed to do the job.

Will we get enough resources? Will the Prince provide us with some decent lions to do yhe job?

TT, Looks like you could be right and that CW has lost a little magic OR let's wait and see just how we handle this bad defeat.
Several players played below their best but we should all know they are capable in this league - not at the top as we all got persuaded we could be but certainly of a high finish. Playoffs are slipping away but you never know.

16 left and we will need 30 points more at least or 20 points to finish mid table.

Wolves have been hanging around in the Championship for a while now, not doing much. Finally their time has come - I believe that ours will too - but we have to be patient. I was amazed when I visited the Lane last week how much Chinese sponsorship there is there now - not necessarily a great thing, but it does mean money's coming.

Also great to see King Kev in person and say hello - I sent him your regards

A lot of good common sense aired on this page.

Just to reiterate though, before the Villa game we had won 4, drawn 3 and lost 1 in all competitions and played really well in some of them so I don’t think it’s correct to infer we were still on a downer. Quite the opposite, most Blades thought we were well on the up again only a week ago. We were very unlucky lost lose in the last minutes to a very strong Villa side and we’ve been well beaten by the best side in the division by a mile. What did we expect with our budget? Brush them aside? Not on here I stress but on other forums and Twitter, it’s like some have just been waiting for a team to outplay us for the first time so they can revert to type and slag everything and everybody off. I’ve had a look back on S2 and some of those going over the top last night said they would be over this moon if we stayed up but now top half with an outside chance of the play offs is “total crap Wilder”, one even wanting him out. I suspect that there’s a strong Pork influence in some posts though, probably some from the sad SOB’s that used to infest this site.

The key now is not to press the self destruct and start turning on players, manager or club and back the lads against Leeds. Let the new players settle in and see where it takes us and do what almost all of us said we would do and enjoy the ride. UTB

'Hanging around' . That's not my way Aya and certainly not hanging around, or being in the same parish,as the man that seems to have discovered the only relatively penniless prince in the middle East to become his pal.

I know Wolves are uppermost in our minds ATM but there;s plenty of others who have sailed through and hasn't Wolves' rise this year been due to much more recent investment?

No on ereally wants to hang around do they?

Which teams have sailed through TT? Not many - for most it takes a while to build up the momentum/investment to get to the land of milk and honey from life in the championship
